"We have to get going now," Lucas said, clearing his throat. His eyes were light but I know that he could hide his emotions well. "Are you angry with me?" I asked, worried that I might have hurt his feelings unintentionally. Just a minute ago, my legs were wrapped around his waist and now we are literally standing about five feet away from each other. Lucas's face was stoic of any emotion when he spoke, "No, why would I ever be angry with you?" He shook his head, looking away from me. Clearly, I had hurt him but he is trying to downplay that for my sake.
