Aurora stepped into the restaurant in her royal apparel, everybody stood up and bowed their heads as a sign of respect, she signalled for them to sit.
She walked into the restricted area where her friends stood up on seeing her.
"Come on, there is no need for you to be formal, you guys are my friends" she rolled her eyes while saying that. She hate when her friends accord respect to her the way others do.
"We know but you are still our future Luna." Cynthia pointed out, they laughed.
"I know Alpha Ralph will give you a choice maybe it is either you rule the city or your future husband does." Sial asked, all were on her as they were eagerly waiting for her response.
"Yes, he might give me the choice but I will never let him down by handling his hardwork to another person not even in my next life," she answered, glaring at Alice on remembering what they did to her in her past life.
"Wow, then I am certain Alice will be your beta." Another lady said. A smile appeared on Alice's face.
"I'm not sure who the person would be for now, maybe I should start thinking about it." Aurora's smile made her smile disappear, confusion was all over their faces.
"But she is the closest person to you, even your parents are not that close to you." Heidi said with a surprised expression.
"In my past life, I told all the people sitting here that Alice would be my beta with lots of boldness. Those silly mistakes I made would not occur again." She thought and smiled out.
"That is not one of the qualifications of been a beta, I might just choose a stronger and wise lady or a guy" she replied calmly, Alice's expression turned sour. The other friends began to murmur among one another.
"How dare she humiliate me in front of everyone? Now, they won't take me seriously anymore and I can't even talk back at her in public. I hate you Aurora," she thought, smirking secretly.
"I support her, she really have the interest of the pack at heart for taking that decision. Alice can't even use a sword properly, so who will lead the fight when a war breakout?." Owen stated, people nodded their heads in agreement.
"The last time I checked, Alice still run away from spiders and she failed woefully in our last test." Sial mocked, they bursted into laughter, Aurora tried to suppress it but she couldn't.
"How will she help solve the problems when she couldn't even pass the simplest course." Owen mocked loudly, and the laughs continued. Alice boiled in anger on her seat.
"Get used to it my dear, you will get disrespected and mocked often." Aurora laughed out. "It's okay everyone, she might not be the beta but she is still my best friend and we will rule together, maybe as my personal maid," she mocked again, they laughed again.
"At least, she would have access to you always." Cynthia added.
Tears were visible in Alice's eyes, she stood up and walked out, preventing everyone from seeing her tears.
Everywhere became silent. "Why is she hurt? We were all joking, aren't we?." Heidi asked, they nodded their heads.
"I thought we were joking as well, Alice view it as a joke. So, I will go after her now while you guys can continue your fun, see you class tomorrow." She addressed them and walked out as well.
"I love how Aurora tried not to cover Alice today, the most surprising thing was how she joined us. This is an opportunity to avenge all that that f**lish girl has done to me," Heidi said with gritted teeth.
"Same here, it is a good thing she is not getting any support from Aurora. This is going to be fun." Cynthia giggled excitedly.
"I knew Aurora would realise she doesn't worth the support. For the fact that she was brought from nothing into our midst and she began to act like Aurora annoys me a lot."
"Yes, she doesn't fit our standard, just a lowlife lurking around the Luna for power and protection."
"This is so satisfying, it is only the tip of an iceberg. I can't wait to do this more often."
She got outside and saw her weeping beside the car to avoid been seen by people. Aurora smiled before moving closer to her.
"What happened? Why are you tearing up?," she asked in a concerned tone.
Alice raised her head and looked at her clueless expression. "You and everyone in there mocked like I was a nobody, I wasn't expecting that from you as my best friend," she said in sadness.
"I don't understand you Alice, this is just a normal thing for you. You mocked Heidi, Cynthia, Owen and our other friends, infact you always start and stop whenever you feel it is enough. There is nothing wrong with what happened this today." Aurora carefully explained to her, Alice's eyes widened in shock she wasn't expecting such answer.
"But...but..."
"What happened here was nothing compared to what you did to them" she added.
She bowed her head in shame and spoke up after seconds of silence. "Nobody is allowed to disrespect me because I am your friend, anybody who does that disrespect you also."
"That's correct but not in this case, you all are my friends and can mock one another without any problem, the only person you all can't mock is me." She explained in a soft voice.
"Is this your take about this issue? I can't even imagine my best friend made me go through all those insults with no sympathy and apology." Alice raised her voice in accusation. A frown appeared on Aurora's face.
"Don't you ever...raise your voice at me, the next time you do such thing, I will make sure you get punished. Don't forget being friends with you doesn't mean you will escape been punished." Aurora warned, pointing fingers at her with a stern face.
She put down her finger and walked towards the car which was opened by the guard, then she got in.
Alice watched her leave feeling shocked than never before. "Is this truly the Aurora I know?,"
