Nico shot the arrow continually on the board with a smile. "No one does this better than you" Ryan complimented. He is the only friend Nico had.
"And I'm proud of that" He replied, in bottling a bottle water and gulped down the whole content.
The guards packed the bows and arrows. Nico and Ryan left the scene.
"You look so happy today, what's the secret man?" He asked jokingly, Nico chuckled happily.
"You got it all wrong, I couldn't keep a smile out of my face after the party at Apex pack" he revealed while smiling.
"Gosh, I really missed a lot." Ryan said out if regret. He was not around when they went for the party, he came back the previous day.
"Yes you did. I haven't been myself ever since I set my eyes on that lady. She always appear in my dreams, I couldn't even go an hour without thinking about her, what did she do to me? I can't even do things right anymore" He stated in a confusion state. Ryan laughed out, Nico shot him a deadly glare, he stopped laughing immediately.
"I'm sorry about that... So, who is she? Where is she from? did you have a conversation with her? Was she nice to you?" He bombarded him with questions.
"Aurora is the daughter of Alpha Ralph of crescent pack. I felt this sensation when she spoke to us for the first time, then we were alone in the garden where we were so close to each other, I didn't even try to push her away like other ladies. She is special" Nico narrated staring at an empty space in front of him.
Ryan patted his shoulders. "Finally, you ve fallen in love. I can't wait to see you two together" he hugged him excitedly, Nico looked at him in confusion.
"That's not happening, I have never loved the opposite s*x and I will never love them" he snapped and disengaged from the hug.
"You are too difficult, be vulnerable enough to love. Ava did everything to make sure you fall in love with her but it was all a waste, everybody tried their best but you ended up chasing her away without knowing."
"Ava did all that just to earn the Luna title." Nick defended himself, Ryan scoffed and laughed out.
"I understand she was a wrong choice, I didn't like her either, she was too forward. I remembered how she trashed your precious books all in the name of cleaning the room, that was the second time I saw you that angry, the humiliation was too much that she had to leave the second day." He narrated, they laughed out.
"I was having a bad day before coming home, seeing my books in the trash made it worse, I embarrassed her without holding back. It is so surprising that nobody spoke about that day. I think I owe her an apology maybe one day she would find it in her heart to forgive me," there was silent after saying that.
The scene of how he screamed, yelled at her while she stood there crying out her eyes replayed in his memory. "I regret doing that, I wasn't merciful enough to apologize before and after she left" he spoke in a sober tone.
"It is over five years now, she would have forgiven you. Moreover, she got married two years ago and has a child now, it is now in the past." Ryan tried to reason with him.
The beta [ Brut ] sat on the couch waiting for Deran, after few minutes of waiting he showed up.
"Have you gotten anything?" He asked.
"Yes, I found a perfect pack which is crescent pack. They have all that we need for the war and I am very sure with their support we will win it. The only clause there is that, Alpha Ralph has vowed not to help any pack ever again after the betrayal that took fifty years ago which the pack they supported." Brut explained in details, looking at him.
"Apart from then, has he gone for any war?." Deran asked with furrowed brows, Brut shook his head.
"What do you think we should do?."
"I think we should go to the pack with varieties of food, drink and fruit as a sign of peace, then we can request for discussion on this issue, we will tell everything to them without hiding anything that's what he hate and we wouldn't want them to turn their back on us completely." Deran nodded in agreement. "That's a brilliant suggestion and solution."
"We need to also propose something to them. They have everything they ever wanted, it is will be so hard to know what they needed"
They sighed out, thinking of what to give. "What if we propose that one of my sons should get married to their daughter?."
"Alpha, can't be possible. Alpha Ralph made it known that his only child and daughter will only get married to someone she wants.
On the brighter side, none of them is fit to get married now. Nico is one of the strongest warrior we have currently, he needs to train hard getting a wife will reduce his zeal to fight for us and Daxton had bad records when it comes to girls, he is not even capable of doing anything for himself. We need to think of another way." Brut stated with valid points.
Deran placed his head on the headboard. "Daxton is a son I am ashamed of, he can't even use a sword properly, yet he causes trouble all over the pack, sometimes I wonder if he is truly my son because everything he does is different what his brother and I does." He complained bitterly.
"Don't even doubt it, a b**tard child won't even last a day here. There is nothing to worry about since Nico is making you proud." Brut said jokingly, Deran exhaled.
"Don't worry about the deal, we can just ask them what they want, simple."
"What If they ask for something we can't give to them?." Deran asked, they looked at each other without an answer coming out from Burt's mouth.
