Chapter 2

"Alice." Aurora called out, walking into her room, searching for her. "Where could she have gone?." She was about to step out when a shining substance caught her attention, she grabbed the bag and opened it only to see pistols of different kinds wrapped in a shining cloth. "What??." Her eyes widened in shock. Before she could process things, Alice's voice was heard on the hallway screaming at a guard as she walked. Aurora shoved the bag under her big dress, hurried to her room and locked the door. She brought it out and examined it carefully. "No pack uses this gun, in fact, it was eradicated and banned as well because it is the most dangerous gun. Why does Alice have them? Is there something I don't know about?." She muttered, caressing the guns one after the other in surprise. She tilted her neck to the bedside stool when she saw a whole envelope carefully placed under the jug. She took it, opened it and began to read it. Dear Aurora, I know you are still hurt about all that I did, I am sincerely sorry. You might have doubts about what I told you the last time, please believe me, it is the truth. You know I would never lie or hurt you. Please, be careful around them, they are at the verge of achieving their goals. I promise to protect you even if I would have to lay down my life for you. From Nico. She read out, tears rolled down her cheek. "I am scared, I am scared. What could Nico have seen? Why does Alice have banned guns in her room? Why did I see Daxton when he was seen driving out of this place in the afternoon? Why is everything so confusing? Why???" She screamed out in horror. A knock came through. "Aurora, it's me." Daxton said. She wiped her tears immediately, packed the guns and the letter and hid them in her safe. Finally, she walked into the bathroom and wet her face with water. "I'm still waiting." Daxton reminded her impatiently. The door opened widely. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting." Aurora apologized, Daxton planted a kiss on her lips. "I should be the one apologizing for not giving my pregnant wife enough attention these days. I'm sorry." He apologized, kissing her cheeks. "I miss you so much." He swept her off the floor, carried her to the bed and started kissing her all over her body. Aurora tilted her neck to the right and sighed out. "It's been a while since I visited my parents, I have decided to go tomorrow" she announced, Daxton stopped kissing her and sat on the bed. "No, I can't let her go tomorrow, I need to convince her." "I'm sorry for spending little time with you and the baby, I heard Alice was busy with work also, it must have been hard for you to cope without us. I promise to stay with you throughout this month without going for work or an assignment." Daxton apologized and promised her. Aurora pouted. "Thank you darling, I insist on going, please permit me, I promise to be back in two days time." She pleaded in a soft voice, caressing his chest. "Ok ok...you know I can't say no to you my love." He agreed with a smile. "Thank you so much...I love you." She appreciated it, just then a knock was heard. "My Luna, Lunch is ready." A maid announced. "Let's go, I can't afford to miss lunch." She shoved him to the other side, adjusted her dress and climbed down the bed. "Alright." Alice spoke no words as they had their lunch. "Why are you quiet today? Did something happen?." Aurora asked, Alice always speaks when eating. She knew it was all about the guns. She forced a smile. "Nothing, I just had a terrible morning, don't worry I will be fine before dinner" she replied, Aurora nodded. "I would love to see those beautiful smiles of yours. I will be going to my parent's house tomorrow for a visit." Alice dropped her spoon and looked at her in shock. "Why did you want to go? A heavily pregnant woman like you can't move around at this time, you can go to them after delivery." Alice tried to persuade her. "I understand your worries, I will be perfectly fine, Moreover, Daxton already permitted me." She replied with a smile, Alice shot him a glare. "Alright then, I really hope you won't regret it." She said, staring at Daxton who was avoiding her gaze at all cost. "How could you permit her? I am starting to think you took those guns to postpone the attack. No matter what you do, it will happen tomorrow and I don't care if she dies or not, it must happen." Alice yelled at him in fury. "Why will you accuse me of such a thing? She insisted on going, that's why I allowed her, do you expect me to tie her down?." He yelled back at her. They both had frowns on their faces as silence overtook for a few seconds. "You are so careless for handling those guns carelessly, do you even know what I went through before getting it?. We can't even ask anybody for it since it is banned. It is gone and there is nothing we can do about it." Daxton ran his fingers through his hair angrily, throwing off his face to the left side. "I'm sorry, I never thought someone would walk into my room to steal it, Moreover, we don't have enough time to push the blame, we need to come up with another plan since this one is ruined." Alice spoke, trying to waive the blame. "If we can't come up with another plan in the next one hour, then the attack will be shifted until we are ready." "No, I have waited all these years to see it happening. Don't worry I will make it happen. Tomorrow is going to be a big day." Alice assured him and smirked visibly.
