EDITORS APPROVAL

"Elias..." she breathed, taking the phone from his hand. She didn't look angry; she looked mesmerized. "The camera sound... the hand dryer... I didn't hear a thing." "It was a total accident," Elias explained quickly, his face flushing. "My thumb slipped when I was trying to get your number. I was going to delete it, but... I couldn't. You looked so incredible." Maya turned around, the phone still in her hand. She leaned back against the window glass, the city lights framing her silhouette. She looked at the photo, then up at Elias, who was standing there half-terrified and half-captivated. "You know," she said, her voice a low, velvety purr as she set the phone down on the side table. "As an editor, I usually hate it when people take unauthorized copies of my work. But for this..." She reached out, grabbing his shirt and pulling him firmly into her space. Her hips pressed against him, finding that familiar, rigid heat once again. "I think I’m willing to sign off on the publication rights." She leaned in, her lips brushing against his ear just like she had in the restroom. "But only if you promise that Chapter 3 is a lot longer than the first two." Elias didn't need a second invitation. He wrapped his arms around her, lifting her petite frame until her feet left the floor, and kissed her with a ferocity that made all the day's "drafts" feel like a distant memory.
