Mia. It's been 2 weeks since Daniel Cobalt resumed work as my assistant and so far, so good. He has been efficient in his work and working as colleagues has been tough. The reason I said that was because I was beginning to develop feelings for him. I'm just grateful that office romance is not frowned upon by the company which means we can actually date as colleagues. That's the reason why I was currently going through my wardrobe, trying to pick a dress for our date tonight. I have been on this subject of trying to find the dress for tonight for more than an hour now, and I still haven't gotten a dress I was satisfied with. Picking up my phone, I dialed Claire, my best friend. She picked up after the first ring. “Hey girl, what's up?” She basically yelled into the phone. Putting the call on speaker, I dropped my phone on my dresser and continued rifting through my clothes. “I need your help. I'm supposed to go on this date and I haven't found a dress to wear,” I rambled. “Wow. Who is the lucky guy?” She asked excitedly. I bit my lips, contemplating on whether I should tell her it was Daniel from the office. I have already told her about him but I feel like we're moving too fast and I feel like other people would not understand the chemistry between us. After a moment of waiting for my reply and not getting one, Claire continued, “Wait… Don't tell me it's Daniel from the office.” “Well…” I drawled. “Girl… I am totally in support of this. You guys look so cute together. Now let's go back to your dilemma, do you know where he's taking you?” Honestly, I didn't know where we were going. “No. I wish I did. It would make all this so much easier for me. All he said was just dress nice. Like what do I wear sir?” I huffed in frustration, slumping down on my bed. “I think you should text him,” Claire replied. “What am I supposed to say, Claire? Do I say sorry but I have not gotten what to wear so can you please tell me when we're going? He's supposed to be here in 45 minutes anyway.” “Wow, you really are frustrated. Just text you and ask him to give you a hint on where you're going so you could have an idea of what to wear.” Sighing deeply, I thanked her and ended the call. Quickly texting Daniel, I asked for the hint and he said we were going to a small eatery and I could wear something classy but casual. I was relieved and immediately, I had an idea on what to wear. I had this flowery summer gown that had been collecting dust in my closet for a while now. I decided to pair it with heeled sandals and curled my hair. At the last minute, I started contemplating if I should go with silver jewelry or gold. It wasn't until I opened the door when Daniel arrived that I made up my mind to go with gold jewelry. I immediately went back inside my room to pair the blue flowery summer gown with black heeled sandals and gold jewelry. I also carried a black bag just to match my black belt and sandals. Stepping out back into my living room space, I saw Daniel walking around, admiring my interior. At the sound of my heels, he turned to face me. “Wow. You look…” he paused and just stared at me, his eyes wide and his mouth ajar. I blushed at his abrupt stop. Seemed like he was flabbergasted by my appearance that his words literally failed him. “You look breathtaking, princess.” He finally completed his sentence. Gosh, that voice. Ever since the first time he came to the office and had called me princess, he refused to call me any other name. I am not complaining though. I mean, who wouldn't want to be called a princess by a handsome prince? “You look handsome too,” I teased. Although it was true. He was dressed in black slacks with a white round neck. He paired it with white sneakers and also had a gold wrist watch on. Well, that was where I got inspiration for my gold jewelry anyway. To top it off his hair was tousled and had that bad boy ‘I just got out of bed’ vibe. “Shall we?” He broke me out of my reverie and the smirk on his face proved that he had caught me checking him out. I placed my hand in his outstretched one and he led me outside, giving me a minute to lock my door before escorting me to his car. He opened the passenger door for me like a faithful chauffeur and I muttered a thank you with a huge grin on my face before sliding in. Looking around the interior of the car as he made his way around the car to the driver's side, I was blown away with the beauty and expensive taste of the car. Which left me wondering: If he had enough money to buy this kind of car, why is he working as an assistant to the secretary of a CEO? Before I could ponder deeply on that thought, he opened the door and started the car and I decided to spend the time watching the scenery fly by as we explored New York. Walking into the eatery we found a nice table at the back and dinner was filled with laughter and jokes and fun. When dinner ended and he drove me back home, I waited for a while. “Uhmmm… I guess I'll see you in the office,” I drawled out slowly, not making a move to open the door and neither was he. He suddenly leaned closer and grabbed my jaw, fixing my lips with an intense gaze. Nervously, I licked it and before I knew it, he kissed me, making my heart explode with joy. I can't wait to fill Claire in on the details.
