I sat by Lena’s side, watching her fidget and shuffle uncomfortably as her mind was overtaken with the worries of her sister. My offers of activities to distract her mind had been brushed off with a look of disdain. I knew she needed her sister here, where she would know she was safe, and no activity was going to take her mind from that. But I wanted to know that Lena was safe.
