Chapter 4

1051 Words
Elena's perspective I discovered a pub that hosts night parties after leaving the pack, and I never imagined that a laid-back night would have such a profound impact on my life. It began as a simple night out at a pub in the downtown area. I noticed a variety of folks appearing happy as I walked inside the bar, taking in the bustling atmosphere and disco party music. While everyone was dancing and enjoying their drinks, I even had a couple too many to help me cope with my agony. A stranger approached me as I sat down at the barstool, feeling a little tipsy. "Hello Miss, may I be of assistance to you? You appear intoxicated." Introducing himself as the winner, he said. "No, thank you; I'm all right." "You don't appear to be doing well. What specifically led to this drinking behaviour?". "You don't need to worry about it; I'm all right. Go away!"." "I apologise for asking too many questions, but could you tell me your name?" "My name is Elena." I was drawn to him by his dark and endearing eyes as I muttered to his ears, "Nice name for a beautiful princess like you." I filled my glass with additional drink bottles and asked, "Tell me, why are you here?" He cut me off right away, yanking the drink away from me, but I couldn't match his power. "Stop drinking; you should get some sleep." His remarks made me even more drunk, and when I leaned my hand on his shoulder, I fell off the barstool he was holding me on. "I understand you." Grinning, he added, drawing me closer to him. I said, "You look cute and caring." He thanked me for his generosity and showed me the lodge room he had paid for. I was so exhausted and lightheaded as we walked into the lodge room that I didn't even see what was going on around me. I had no idea what had transpired when he carried me to the bed, laid me down, turned off the light, and undressed. I assumed it would be just one thing, but it was electrifying, and we ended up spending the night together. I had no idea how drastically this brief encounter would change my body. The following morning, I was awakened by my phone's alarm, which prompted me to check the clock and discover that it was 7 a.m. "So I stay here overnight?" When I saw I was naked, I screamed and covered myself with the blanket, wondering who I had spent the night with. I muttered under my breath, attempting to piece together what had happened the night before. After giving it some thought, all I saw when I looked at my side was a gold wristwatch. This demonstrated that I had spent the night with a man I didn't know. All I could recall was his name, Patrick, but I didn't know his occupation, address, or even his contact information. "Winner!I remarked, taking the wristwatch as I got ready to leave for an unidentified place. When I eventually found a house near the pub, I knocked on the door and a woman named Sarah answered. She emerged, unlocked the door, and ushered me inside. "What's wrong? You seemed anxious. I hope everything is fine." "Yes, I'm concerned that I should locate a Patrick.". "Who is Patrick? Who is Patrick?" Confused, she asked. "Were you not there, the man I met in the pub last night?". "Whatever became of him?"." She asked, her expression still bewildered. "He and I had a one-night stand." "He's just a stranger; tell me this isn't true." "You did what?" My body turned chilly and my temperature increased to a certain point, which sent a shockwave through my spine and made me anxious. At that moment, I stopped thinking about what to do next. "Elena!" I was startled out of my reverie and brought back to reality by her words. "Are you certain that you're okay?". "I believe I have a mild headache." "Now what do we do? How can we find him?" Her inquiry gave me the notion for what I should do next. "Let's return to the bar where we first met; I think the hostess or barman ought to have some documentation about him." "That's a great idea; let's move quickly." After calling a cab, we made our way back to the pub. We went inside as soon as we got there and asked the barman some enquiries. The barman glanced at us hopefully as he waited to accept our order, saying, "Excuse me, how may I help you?" We are not going out for a drink tonight, but perhaps we will be next time. Do you know anyone named Patrick? I met him here last night; he is a dark-skinned man with endearing eyes. When I described it, the barman started laughing. That's not someone I believe I know either. Even though there are other winners with the same description, you might want to try calling him. Sarah answered him, and I looked at her anxiously. "We wouldn't have been here if we had his contact information." "Perhaps you met a complete stranger at that time. I would have loved to assist, but we only keep transaction records, not person records." "All right, I appreciate your concern, but I believe it's time for us to take a break." As we were about to leave, Sarah spoke up, and we were abruptly drawn to what the barman had to say. "Wait! Maybe you could leave me your contact information so I can call you when I see someone like him, or you could come back here this weekend and see him." Before leaving, we thanked him and exchanged contact information because he provided us wise counsel. Over the course of the day, I began to feel exhausted and lightheaded, so I went to the hospital for a check-up. In order to obtain the test results, the doctor instructed me to return in a week. A few weeks later, I was in complete shock as I stared at a positive pregnancy test. How could one night have such a profound impact on someone's life? Maybe I was expecting Jackson, and maybe another one hasn't taken over yet.
