It was the night of the dinner double date with Alec and Elaine, and I could not believe Lucien even consented to such an idea. I felt slighted. He and Elaine were already doing a good job emphasizing their engagement around the pack house, I didn't need a private show of them lasting for at least three hours.
I took my shower and went through the whole hour of preparation, grumbling and hoping it got canceled, no matter how last minute.
I wore a nude-colored dress. It was a straight dress to the knee, having sewn rose flowers covering the front view of the dress. I tried to keep it simple, with my hair packed in one band, just at the center. I picked a pair of black heels, only about two inches high, and a matching purse to follow.
