CORRIGAN
It was a wonder seeing Lucien beat another challenger like an adult would do to a kid. A part of me was sad he won because that would only mean he would remain the alpha and I would remain his mistress, but a greater part of me was glad he won.
But what I didn’t expect was him sparing the life of his second challenger and healing him on the balcony. He was supposed to rule by the law, which said that the reward of rebellion is death.
No one protested. Everyone stood still and watched in awe as he gave the fellow a helping hand, and helped him rise to his knees.
He put his arm around the challenger and kissed his cheek, then, they both turned to us, making us, the crowd, gasp in both awe and relief.
