Kate coughed, “I bet to take my leave,” she bowed to Alec and headed for the door.
“Thank you very much, Kate, you have been too kind.” He handed her a ward of cash before she left.
I smiled lightly and took a seat. He sat opposite me, and we commenced the lunch date.
It was hours of conversation. The air filled with laughter and heart-lifting moments. Alec was a delight to be around. He had a charming smile that was contagious, accompanied by a cheerful spirit. It was difficult to be stiff around him.
“So…” he took a break from the laughter and looked me in the eyes.
I let my eyes down, ashamed to look at him. His look had a melting effect on me and I tried to be comfortable.
