“Alec,” I walked quickly to him as he approached speedily.
“I came as soon as I heard,” he hugged me and gave me a soft pat on the back.
We walked into the pack house and made for my chambers.
CORRIGAN’s POV
I sat by Kate’s bed making sure she was ok. Her face brightened, a sign that Lucien’s powers were reviving her. She was expected to be up and strong by morning.
I wept for hours, thinking of Rodrigo and all the blissful moments shared. From the first day, he was assigned to me, offering me a bath. His comical sense even in troubled times, his bickering and frequent squabbles with Kate. I wonder how Kate would feel and react when she wakes up and realizes that the attack that left her unconscious for days had claimed Rodrigo’s life.
