I attempted to get up but was restrained by a banging headache. I held my head lightly and sat upright, leaning on the bed frame. I took a second look and realized Alec was the one beside the bed.
"Here, this should help," He handed me a cup of herbs.
"Thank you," I said, under my breath.
"What happened?" He inquired with genuine concern.
"I missed a step. How long have I been unconscious?" I asked. It was dark and the glistening stars reflected a new day had gone by.
"I got here earlier today and met you unconscious in the bathroom. You scared me." Alec said. "It aches my heart to see you hurt." He held my hand affectionately.
"Thank you so much," I said. I was very weak. I looked into his eyes with the most eternal gratitude, "for everything."
