Marietta was quiet. She had been quiet ever since I told her what that kid said to me and I couldn’t tell if she was angry or upset with what she had learnt. I knew how I felt though - I was confused and it was due to what Crista had said. The prince of The Northern Kingdom - Prince Valack - had gone to their village, gone into their home, ordered Alma to make sure Crista came to the cave and made sure Alma would do just that by taking quite a number of people from the village, and set a trap for Crista using mercenaries who were no doubt expensive. All that was honestly too much and I was starting to believe that the reason he was after her was not because she helped the dragon he shot down to escape.
Why did she lie? …Who is she and why is Prince Valack after her?
