A series of assurances and apologies from the doctor and the nurse later, I agreed to the scan. I lie down, reluctantly. The doctor showed me the monitor.
"Ms Stevens, we have detected two heartbeats," says the doctor. I was shocked. Did I hear it right? Heartbeats? Isn't it too early? I had been pregnant before, and we couldn't detect the heartbeat until 3 months. Then how is this possible?
"Two heartbeats?" I asked confused.
"Yes...Ms. Stevens. Congratulations." I was confused, but I didn't voice out my opinion. I need a baby, and I have two now, so I don't complain.
"Thank you," I mumbled.
