Chapter 9

1248 Words
Alex Bennett I woke up on the wrong side today because the first thing I heard was that I lost the men whom I had sent to observe and follow my instructions. It did not end there, I was supposed to attend a meeting held by the King, King my foot. I snarled at Zane, my right hand, for delivering such a message. Zane remained unfazed, but the lady who was lying beside me flinched and scooted away from me. Then I realised that I was not alone in bed. I huffed. Good that she was covered in the blanket. I massaged my forehead and turned to Zane. "Is there anything else that you have to say?" I asked enraged. Zane was Liam's right-hand man and a close friend. "What were those rogues doing there Alex? Had you planted them?" he asked. I stood up naked, removing the soft, velvety blanket. He doesn't like me and I think he suspects me. "I had sent them to observe there, but they messed up... fools!" I barked. "Good that they are dead. Anyways, I need to get ready," I said and stormed towards the bathroom. I can't keep talking to him, I may blurt out something in rage. He already suspects me. I need him to be on my side. I had a quick shower in life. I need all the details of what happened there. My head was reeling with all the possibilities that could have happened there. I wrapped a towel around my waist and walked out of the bathroom. Thank the heavens, the lady had left. I poured the liquor into the glass and gulped it. I had a plan in place to trap the so-called King. But everything got ruined. Those rogues had failed me. They couldn't follow simple instructions. Morons!! All were useless. I throw the glass on the floor. Frustrated, I ran my hands over my thick shady hair. I hate to think I have failed again. I take out the cigarette box from my pocket pick one up and light it. Taking a big drag, I let out the smoke will still go ahead with the plan. I had already convinced and gained the confidence of werecats and werebears. Liam's death was a big blow to them. They blindly trust me now. I can't let that go for nothing. Frankly speaking, they don't care. But they don't like the wolves either which makes us friends. I entered the meeting room with Zane and Brian on my toes. I see werebears and werecats seated already. Both looked bored to death. Werecats were useless, they didn't have the strength or power. They had men that's all. Werebears were lazy asses; they had strength, but didn't know how to put that to use. They were lacking in the brain department. They were satisfied with small things. I took the seat, Zane and Brian to my right and left. "I need your vote of faith here. We can't let them play mind games with us." I said, they both nodded frantically. We heard footsteps approaching us. I leaned away from the table and relaxed. I know how to play this game. I am an expert in this. A strong aura engulfed us and my fox started pacing in my head. 'Stop that, you will give me a headache.' I said to my fox, Roxy. 'I have a bad feeling about this.' he replied. I clenched my jaw. I sometimes feel he pees whenever he comes face-to-face with the King. He is such a coward. 'I am not a coward, and I didn't pee,' he snarls at me and goes back to his hiding spot. I huff. The door opens, and the King and his subordinates enter the room. The bastard had set up cameras in every inch and corner of the border. The photos show how the camp was set up. But, I am smart too. I refused to accept his baseless allegations. I quickly glanced at Eric Brown, head of the werebears and Flaty Paw, head of werecats. They had a puzzled look watching the photos. As if this was not enough, he has to comment and mock me about the investigation of Liam's murder. He sure had sent men to spy on Liam. Does he know who killed Liam? I am sure he doesn't, he was just throwing the knife in the dark. He doesn't know everything. I glanced at Eric and Flaty, they were glaring at me. "You said your men were just crossing by the border, and they were killed by King's security. What is it here? they were rogues and setting up the camp and trying to invade their territory." Flaty asked after the King's team left. I ignored him. I started collecting the photos and documents when Eric asked gruffly" What was Liam doing in the college?" "Don't tell me, you don't know about it. I am not a fool." he continued. "You call us friends, but you were never transparent with us." accused Eric and I scrambled out of the room with the confused Zane and Brian behind. "What is going on? What did you tell them?" asked Zane. I ignored him. He sighed furiously. The car ride was filled with tension, but nobody spoke. I walked to my room not giving time for anyone to talk. I was drinking and thinking how could this happen? when I smelled a strong perfume invading my nostrils, but I didn't turn around. These witches and their f*****g teleporting. One day she will give me a heart attack. I pour a generous amount of hard liquor and take a big gulp. A hand reached my shoulder "You seem tensed." she says, her voice soft and slutty. I watch her hand as it slides down from my shoulder to my arm. Her nails are long, sharp, blood-red and flashy. I wonder why she needs spells when she can kill with her nails. "What are you doing here? You shouldn't..." she shushes me with her finger and slowly draws it over my lips, releasing my lower lip in an agonizingly slow way. "Don't you miss me?" she asks, fluttering her long eyelashes. I don't have time for this, but I need to relieve my tension first to think properly. So I don't wait, I turn her back to me and bend her over the table. After two rounds of wild s*x and 4 orgasms later, we lie side by side. She lays her head on my chest, her fingers playing with my chest hair. She asks "Why were you so tense?" I sighed deeply. I glanced down at her; her eyes twinkled and lips parted, inviting me to kiss them senseless. Before I could do that, an idea popped into my head. "Do you love me?" I asked abruptly. She looked puzzled and asked, "After all these years, you are asking me this question?" I know she has loved me for many years now. "How much?" I asked. "What?" she asked. "How much do you love me?" She was silent for a few seconds before she said "I can do anything for you." "Are you sure?" "What do you want me to do?" She asks as she sits up. I sat up on the bed and placed her on my lap. I explained to her the plan, and she nodded at intervals. "I can do this," she said. "But, remember you are mine," I said.
