CHAPTER- 8

Later at the same night , after having diner and chatting over calls Anu went to sleep. But veer was wide awake sitting beside his window . He was gazing at the night sky. The night was a slight one except for few insects making sound at a distant. The moon was shining in the night sky. Clouds are playing hide and seek with the moon. Sometimes covering the moon and at time revealing it a bit. All were having a peaceful slumber except one soul. He was replaying today’s events. All the images are flashing one by one in front of his eyes. Though in the morning he let it aside but now, within the boundary of his lonely room he couldn’t help but resurface today’s events along with his bitter sweet past memories.

Veer , as a child was lonely. His life was going perfect. Small family happy family. But when was a bit older than 10 years , things started to go downhill. His parents quarrel, not giving him the required attention , not caring for him , not pampering him starts pricking him . He always crave for love and attention. He always wants one person to be there for him whenever he messed up , or whenever he needs advice. Though his father and mother are around but they were not a happy family . His parents are not on speaking terms. At each and every point there will be argument. His parents didn’t divorced but they don’t leave together also. Whenever his mother will be at home , his father will be far away for work. And vice versa. In their own quarrel , they forgot what kind of image they are building in the heart of an innocent boy. He was tired of finding their presence in their absence , tired of finding happiness in sadness and fight. And then one day his dam broke. He requested his father to allow him to live alone in one of their flats. His father understanding his dilemma granted him to live in this locality where one of his friends reside . His father very well knew that under his friend’s supervision, their son will not being able to be in any kind of mishap. Though his mother threw a huge tantrum but nonetheless agreed seeing her son’s gloomy face . Veer was even surprised that his parents actually agreed to his this decision without arguing much.

So they shifted to anu’s locality . Here he was leaving alone since he was 11 years of old. Before that he used to go there for every occasion . In that way he could get a glimpse of his little friend Anu there . But now he permanently resides there.

Anu became his peace. Her antics , her friendliness, her care , her support, her love is always there for him. Whenever he feels lonely , he seeks for Anu. She became his medicine. Her actions always brought a smile on his face. He is slowly becoming addicted towards her. Her mere presence brought a soothing sensation in his heart. She always has a solution to his every problem. Their bond is completely different. They are inseparable. Whenever one finds Anu there is veer tagged with her and vise versa. His Anu , his world. He wants nothing else, no one else.

But now there is slight fear growing in his heart. Today’s incident flashed before him, not that he has problem with Anu talking to boys. He is not that controlling to restrict Anu to talk to any boys. But the emotions he saw today in Suraj’s eyes, he has an intuition that Suraj may also like Anu or worse love her. He don’t want to loose Anu . Already his life was a mess due to family issues. He want his Anu to be a constant in his life always. He don’t want Anu and him to be in his parents place , close yet miles apart. Anu is his heartbeat and he cant loose that. So he decided he will made her understand his point of view not that it is required cause he knows his Anu will always be his. She has not even a slightest feelings for Suraj but then again he don’t believe his luck . What if Anu starts to like Suraj company? What if she decides to be Suraj’s girlfriend? The mere thought of Anu being someone else’s made his heart skip a beat with fear. He is not ready to lose her.

What veer don’t know that he is already in love with Anu. He is confused with this like and love feeling . He dejectedly sat by the window side gazing at the moon, smiling remembering their moments and sometimes confusion marring his face regarding the current situation.

Night passed by and veer’s room brightened with the sun’s rays . He is still by the window, sleeping peacefully. Sun ray’s falling on his face highlighted his face features. Suddenly his sleep broke by someone tapping on his cheek. He slowly opened his to see Anu standing there with her one hand on his cheek. He smiled thinking it to be a dream , and go to sleep.

Here ,Anu was frustrated . She was calling him since one hour and he is not receiving the call. It was Saturday and they decided to spend this day outside with their friends since this whole week they were busy. All were waiting outside. Already half of the day wasted. Worriedly she hurried to his flat to see this mister was sleeping by the window side. She patted his cheek a few times but the same response. So now with the only option left, she slapped his cheek with a great force. Veer receiving the sweet love from Anu woke up with a start holding his cheek with his hand and pouting. He lazily rubbed sleep away from his eyes , yawned and wished her good morning. But seeing her red face , he knew he did a blunder. Rubbing his face, he sheepishly looked at her. Holding her hand he brought her closer to him. She let him drag her but kept her face sideways . Her way of showing anger he slowly kissed her forehead and then cheek silently asking for forgiveness. Her heart melts at the gesture. She smiled a tiny bit, but nonetheless kept her straight face . Seeing this he turned her face towards him , cupped her face , rubbed her nose with his and gave peck indicating he was truly sorry he overslept . And not to forget he kept his puppy face pouty lips which is always a bonus for him since she always forgive him. And this time is also no different. Keeping her forehead attached with his she smiled finally indicating that she forgives him but next time she will be strict .

Veer heaved a sigh of relief and kept his hands around her waist to made her sit on his lap. But she was quick to get away. Veer pouted sadly. But she was adamant to spend the day having fun as they had decided. So she ordered him to hurry up since their friends were already waiting outside. Sensing her urgency he dashed through the door. Meanwhile, she kept his dress laid on the bed and made a small breakfast for him . Also texted their friends that they will be down in half an hour.

Veer smiled seeing the arrangements after coming out of the bathroom. He got ready and had his breakfast which was a couple of sandwiches and juice. He took the necessary things for the outings and head out. While going down Anu warned him that their friends and not as soft as her. He has to hear a earful from them so he should be prepared. Veer only smirked at this.

As told by Anu, their friends was already ready to scold him but veer kept his cool. He only smirked and promised them that this outing was on him. After listening this all cheered and forgive him in an instant. Shortly after their banter, they went for the trip.
