We entered the diner which had leather bucket seats and resembled an old-fashioned burger place. A waitress wearing a red and white apron smiled and led us to a table where she plopped a menu in front of us that turned out to feature a large number of burgers but also lots of other choices. “Would you like anything to start?” she asked. Rick smiled at her. “Two coffees, please. Thank you.” When she skirted away, Rick gazed across at me.
