“Hey babe, Is anything wrong?” Ana said as she observed how fast I was trying to rush out. I was almost moving like a flash. “It's mama. I really need to be at the hospital” I quickly responded while still moving. It was if I was timed . I couldn't even hear what Ana said afterwards. I exited the club. On my way into the hospital I saw Xavier stepping out. How could he possibly he be in Cosmo Club, a second ago and here now. He didn't even see me. He was heading to his car, as a tall man in black suit open the car for him. I snapped out of that and rushed to the nurse as she directed me where Mama was moved to. “Ethan, What happened?” I said agitatedly. “Tess, I got here early this morning to check on you and Vanessa. I didn't see you. Only to be told by the doctor, She was moved here and they started her surgery a while back. Did you pay for the surgery, Tess?” Ethan said curiously searching for answers. “Someone paid the bills?” I repeated what Ethan said. I was shocked too. Who could be?. Did Ashford sort it?. This was so quick too. “I'm asking you, Tess” Ethan scoffed. “Was Ashford able to lend you the money” Ethan asked. “Hmm” I began to stutter. Immediately, I sighted the doctor coming out from the theater. I left Ethan without responding to the question. “Ms Telsa Hayes, right? “Doctor Karen asked. “ Yes” I said trying to sense whether the operation went well or not.

“The operation was successful. She will be conscious soon. Can I see you?” Doctor Karen finally broke the news. “Yes. I'm so happy. She is “ I smiled and scoffed, holding Ethan's hands. Ethan was confused but still chuckled and we hugged. “Can we see her now?” Ethan asked Doctor Karen. “Not yet. I need to see you, Ms Hayes, now “ Doctor Karen said. I let go of Ethan hands. I realized I was holding his hands out of excitement. “Okay, Doctor Karen” I said.

“We got a payment for your mom's surgery and treatment with a description. It indicated that it was from your fiance. He consented to begin the surgery with a signature. His name is Mr Xavier Laurent” Doctor Karen said as we both settled in her office. He handed me the papers .My palms were sweating .The hospital walls were spinning.That statement rang a bell in my head. Did he just say Fiance?. Did he just say Xavier?.Xavier is aware of my situation. Is that also part of the contract?. Did Ashford include that?. I didn't even read the contents of the contract well.God, damn it. I only let Ashford explain it. Xavier was here. Oh my God, I literally saw him leaving on my way in. I was perplexed. “Yeah I'm aware” I feigned a smile. “Oh, that's great. We started the surgery immediately he paid with his signatures signed” Doctor Karen showed me the papers. “Hmm, thank you” I said, feigning my smile again. “When she's conscious. Expecting an explanation, I'm not ready to give out. “Tess, what did the doctor say” Ethan asked. “She's in a good shape now. I can't believe this” I ran to hug Ethan tight, hoping we would talk about Mama and nothing else more. “Hmm, Tess” He didn't hug me fully. “How did you get the money “ Ethan asked and he broke the hug and faced me directly. “Ethan , I need to prepare everything before she wakes up. As I was about to take my phone from my bag, I saw the tall guy in a black suit near the car. He was with tons of bags. He crossed his legs against the car. When our eyes met, he started working towards me. My heart skipped. I became restless. “Ms Telsa Hayes” He smiled . “I'm Liam Carter. A friend to Xavier “Liam said. “Okay “ I didn't know what else to say . “Xavier wants to see you this evening at Aurora's fine dining “ He said, as he gave the bags, he was holding. “That's what you should wear.
