The First Conversation

My hardened heart hasn’t fluttered like this in decades.  He’s there. He’s so close… I could capture him now if I wanted to.  I can tell by the tension in his body that he’s about to run away from me again, he looks like prey that’s being stalked by a wild predator. And I can’t blame him.
