Chapter 5: Shine

At the center of everything, Reyna, just sat quietly eating her meal. She couldn't understand why everyone was in shock the moment Ethan revealed his cultivation and why they had looks of suffocation on their faces. Only a light breeze had blown her face from the beginning of his display.
She didn't know why but facing this sudden challenge, streams of energy surged into her veins from somewhere inside her. She suddenly felt very powerful. Looking inside her body with her consciousness, she saw a big golden orb floating just around her navel area.
This orb was releasing jets of golden ley lines that turned into streams of energy that flowed into her body.
Where did this come from? Reyna stared at the orb, perplexed. I'll have to study you when I get back home!. Reyna said to the orb as she pulled her consciousness back.

In the canteen, all eyes were on her, waiting to see her reaction. Ethan had that same snicker on his face again. The thought of Reyna falling down to apologize to him when she realized she couldn't beat him filled him with so much excitement that he couldn't wait.
Miss Reyna, please… enlighten me! Ethan entreated her with a slight bow.
How about I enlighten you instead?! Just as Reyna was about to stand up and teach this boy a lesson, a strong masculine voice with a sweet baritone edge, sounded from behind. A young man with a muscular build appeared in everyone's sight.
His face looked like it was chiselled personally by gods hands, with blue eyes sparkling under the sunlight.
Boom!
An overpowering pressure filled the air as he walked, causing everyone to hold their breaths Instantly.
Fighter 5-dan, cauldron strength stage!
Who is he?!
Such powerful aura? Is he a teacher in the academy?!
Seeing who it was, Ethan's eyes nearly popped out of his sockets as he stuttered to speak.
First senior?! Wh…at are yo…u doing here?!
Why was the first disciple of the second master here?! Ethan felt a strong headache coming.
Oh, I wasn't told I need to start reporting my whereabouts to you? Or am I?!The young man looked at Ethan innocently.
No no no, that's not what I meant ! Ethan was on the verge of crying now.
Okay, that's great. If that's the case, when do we start the spar you talked about…
There'll be no need for that sir, I am well aware of my shortcomings and I will work on myself! Ethan prayed that this would end it.
Oh, you're rejecting me?! you're well aware of your flaws?! Are you trying to say that I am unable to guide you properly or give pointers to help you?
Senior!Ethan was crying now. Senior, I didn't mean to disrespect you. Please, I sincerely apologize!
Since you're sorry, get out of here. Scram!
Yes senior!Like a dog with its tail between the legs, Ethan fled the canteen, leaving behind his students to chase after him.
Reyna watched everything. In her mind, she gave the young man an applause. Seeing Ethan scurrying away like a drenched cat gave her satisfaction and it was all thanks to this man.
Thank you, She walked to him and said.
I didn't do it for you. Lucien responded sharply.
Regardless, you helped me get rid of a troublesome bug. That alone deserves thanks. Whether or not you like it
Alright Lucien finally gave in.
Yes, let me buy you dinner later today as a thank you? She pushed further a little.
Okay. Lucien said.
Ummm, okay… 6pm, at the Gourmets House!Reyna concluded

Lucien simply nodded before turning away and slowly disappearing from everyone's sight
There was something about Lucien that Reyna couldn't place her fingers on, something that attracted her to him.
Interesting!She smiled and got up to go. She had lost her appetite the moment Ethan came in.

Inside the Manor, the young man Lucien was walking slowly on a stone bridge. He gazed at the little fishes in the water from time to time but his mind was wandering far away from the water.
Ever since he came back, he had not been himself. Images of that young girl filled his mind. He didn't know what moved him to do what he did just now.
That was so unlike him. Normally he wouldn't even bat an eye, except an acquaintance was involved but this was a total stranger. He was deeply perplexed.
He had just come out of a two year seclusion and didn't know anything that had happened recently in the academy.
I guess I'll just see her at dinner!Lucien said, to try to get his mind off of her but it didn't work.

On the other side of the academy, Reyna had just stepped into her room.
Seating directly on the floor, she began to inspect the golden orb, covered with key lines floating in her belly. The ley lines weren't moving out into her body. They just swam around the golden ball.
The orb was rotating like before, it just stood still and radiated bright light. Somehow the brilliant light reminded her of the young man that stepped in to save her from embarrassment. Reminded her of how amazing he looked when he shut up Ethan's mouth.
His eyes seemed to have an allure to it, constantly drawing me in throughout when he dealt with Ethan. His skin was as fair as snow, with a healthy glow on it. His charisma, oh god his charisma… I wasn't told I need to start reporting my whereabouts to you?! Or am I ?!
Hmm so cool!
Reyna was totally lost in her imaginations.
Before she knew it, four hours had gone by. She used these four hours to first gather money for the dinner, then to practice her thank youspeech and finally pick a dress to wear.
The pick a dress to weartook a huge chunk of the four hours.
Soon, it was almost 6pm.
