Upon waking up the next day, Sasha realized she was alone in the room. "Well, that's it. He left before I woke up… again," she thought and got up to make the bed. She stared at the pile of dresses on the chair, and the events of last night ran through her mind. It pained her to get rid of the dresses, but she couldn't afford to let her husband think she was poor and only married him for his money. His statement last night really hurt her, and it didn’t help that he compared their relationship to a contract—the very reason she accepted the marriage, though not the reason she married him.
