“Jackie, do you realize your birthday is in two weeks?”
Tony says it out of the blue, and my heart nearly jumps out of my chest. What the hell? How did he even find out that my birthday is in two weeks?
I glance at our mothers, and the looks on their faces mirror my own shock. They are just as surprised as I am. I don’t think anyone expected Tony to know something so personal about me. Not even me. And God, I truly hope they don’t know about the crush I’ve had on him for as long as I can remember.
Natasha and Mom turn their wide eyes toward me, staring as if I’ve suddenly grown two heads.
“What?” I ask, already exhausted by the stares and desperate to break the tension filling the room.
