Chapter 15 Marcus had been shot before, more times than he could remember. But he never got used to the pain, especially not after being shot four times. Angie had caught him unaware, and he chastised himself for that. He hadn’t been thinking clearly; his mind had been on the scent, on someone that was so familiar to him that he was seconds away from finding out who had broken the window. What he couldn’t figure out in his human form, he’d been able to once shifted – and he had let his guard down. “Stop screaming!” he yelled, crawling up to his knees.
