Episode 2 - The Stranger

824 Words
Ericks POV I was just enjoying my whiskey when I heard the door to the bar open, I glanced over to see a girl enter the room, she looked new. Mate, stop staring at that girl; Tasha will get jealous. My friend warned. I’m not staring, i responded whilst rolling my eyes. Dude Tasha is giving you death glares, you might want to be careful before she does something stupid. I turned my head to look at Tasha when all of a sudden I noticed she was talking to the mystery girl. Well s**t, go tell Rachel that Tash is needed in the back, tell her if she doesn’t get there within 5 minutes, I will kill her myself. I watched some more as Rachel went over to Tasha whispering in her ear the news, Tasha looked pissed and stormed away to the back, at least that was taken care of now. Except..what was she doing? The damn new girl got up and followed her! Does she want a death wish?! I got up quickly and went to the girl, making her stop in her tracks. You can’t go that way. I said without any emotion. Delilah’s POV Why can’t I? I asked in annoyance, she obviously didn’t work here so why could she go in there and I couldn’t, and who was this guy to tell me what I can or cannot do. Your drunk, you need to go home, he said loudly, I noticed that the bartender was staring, I only had one drink so I definitely was not drunk but if I started an argument I would get kicked out. Before saying anything else I shoved past the stranger and headed home. Trying to find my way back was trickier than I thought, it was dark and gloomy; there was no lights by the road so it was pitch black, no cars drove by, just endless houses and trees. What was worse is that it had began to rain and i did not have anything to cover me. My fingers started turning blue, an icy wind blew against my face, I staggered near to a bench and sat down trying to unlock my phone as the rain drenched the screen making the touch screen too slippery. Suddenly I felt a cold dry fabric wrap around my bare shoulders protecting me from the harsh drops of rain. Why are you out here? Said a man’s voice softly. I looked over my now covered shoulders to a tall Red Headed man with blue tender eyes, freckles formed over his nose and his cheeks had a blush of red on them. Well- I- *sighs* I was kicked out of a bar, not for my own fault though; and now I don’t know my way home and I can’t unlock my phone to call my mum for the address I said starting to feel rather stupid at myself for not taking better notice of my surroundings. The man looked at me with a soft smile that faltered slightly just before he began to speak, this may sound odd and I will not force you, but I just live round the corner, come inside just so that you can get dry and unlock your phone and call your mum, I promise I’m not a creep! I won’t touch you I promise! I laughed at the man’s kind gesture, that’s exactly what a creep would say. I paused thinking about my choices, staying in the rain would get me no where, and it was already so late that my mum would begin to worry now, I’ll come, but only by the door, I’m Delilah. I’m Jackson, but please just call me Jack. We both got up and headed towards Jacks house, it was very large and you could see the lights inside making the house look very welcoming and warm. Jack unlocked the door and I stepped into his hallway where I dried my hands and phone to unlock it, I noticed I had 10 missed calls from my mum and called her back awaiting to be yelled at. DELILAH I HAVE CALLED YOU A HUNDRED TIMES AND YOU HAVENT ANSWERED! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU I WAS WORRIED SICK! Mama, I got lost on my way back, a man called Jack helped me; I don’t know the address to our house yet and I need googlemaps to help me. A man? Lilah where are you, come home right now! Mama, the address, I need it *sighs* 54 Acres Road- if your not back in 5 minutes I’m calling the police! I know I shouldn’t of but I hung up the phone on my mother, she was only going to continue shouting and I now had the address to get home, thank you jack, I said as I waved to him walking out of his house.
