I got through my night shift on adrenalin. It seemed like it would never finish. The first thing I did, when Robbie got in, was to ask him to contact Regional Office, to let them know I had a change of heart. Robbie smiled and nodded. “I already put the bug in the director’s ear that you might reconsider, so they slowed down the process of finding your replacement, until you made a final decision. Was it a pilot who helped you change your mind?”
I smiled. “Thanks boss, I appreciate it. Brett was only part of the reason; an important part, mind you. I like working here for you, and with the others. I like the town, and I’ve always been an outdoors kind of guy, so the location is perfect.”
