The ship had set sail towards the other bank of the Meya. It carried fifty men, a hundred horses, grain and dried meat, bread and wine, and as many weapons as it could carry. Nakhakantan was one among the men. He wore his armor, a new helmet, and two swords which hung on either side of his armor. A shield was hung against his back. A long dagger also hung between the swords on his waist belt. Nakhakantan looked back to see the seven boats leaving the port. They were filled with men. Meya was serene. There was no sign of any disturbances. The mid-sun was burning hot above his head. He looked at his weapons. On the right side of the belt was his favorite sword, Blood.
