The Unmated Mate

Four : Coincidence

Hera can hear her heart skip a beat, her eyes still glued with the crown prince's eyes.

"H-hey..." Hera tried to let go of the prince's arms but he just pulled her closer. And Hera can't do anything anymore, he's too strong for her to handle. When suddenly someone snatch her arms and pulled her away from the prince, but before Hera could let go from him, the prince grabbed Hera's other arm. And now, Hera's in between two handsome fellas whose hands grasping her arms as tension began to build up the atmosphere.

"Kevin..." Hera called out for Kevin when she noticed it was him. But Kevin didn't even bother to look at her and just glared at the prince.

"Let go of her" Kevin said in his cold voice, and Hera can see how Kevin's eyes turned red. But the prince doesn't seem threatened by it and he just tightens his grip on Hera's arm.

Hera can start to feel pain by how their hands tighten while holding her arm and none of them seems to plan to let go. And to lessen the pain, Hera used her own ability to feel numb.

"Why would I?" Adam said cockily that irritates Kevin and a strong wind started to build up inside the hall.

"Why would you? Because you don't have any reason to be with my mate" Kevin said and for a moment, shock is visible in Adam's eyes but later on, it turned blank and cold.

Students also started to notice their fight and they step away from them to give them space. Now, there are only the three of them in the middle of the crowd.

"Kevin stop" Hera said in a low voice when a tornado is starting to form,  from behind him.

Hera knows he was probably really pissed off right now, for showing a big tornado like that. Just like what happens every time kids from other villages bully them, he always uses his elemental power to chase them away.

Adam then snorts and looked at Kevin with a serious look as his own eyes started to turn red. Then he also formed two tornados, one with fire and one with ice. Everyone can feel the fight is getting bigger so they went farther away from them.

"Isn't that the crowned prince of Celliondale?"

"Who is he fighting with?"

"Are they fighting over that girl?"

"This is interesting, we gotta watch this"

"That's one of the Hawkins, the guys with the riches clan?"

"Vampfight! Vampfight!"

The crowd started to chant.

"Stop it, Kevin" Hera called out for Kevin again but he seems not to hear her and just continued what he's doing. And his tornado becomes stronger. So Hera looked at Adam.

"Your highness stop" Hera begged, but none of them listened to her.

"I said let go of her" Kevin said again and pulled Hera to him but Adam still hasn't let go of Hera's arm so he pulled her back to him.

"I make the order, not you" Adam said and started to glare at Kevin.

Hera looked at her arm, and even though her magic helps her not to feel pain, she can see how her arms began to turn red. 

While on the other hand, Cyrus started to notice the persons who were involved in the commotion are actually Hera and Kevin.

"Xyder, Monica, isn't that Hera and Kevin?" Cyrus asked the obvious while Xyder just passes through him as soon as he saw what trouble Kevin was into and directly went to where they are, followed by Monica.

"Why don't we go back to the hall? He was just probably there messing around with girls" Julius said , while they were all searching for the prince outside the great hall and wandering around the campus.

"He said he'll go to the west wing, why would he lie?" Angelo said that made Julius look at him badly.

"I wasn't talking to you dweeb" Julius replied.

"Lucas!" Koda out from the middle of the field called out for Lucas who has been looking frustrated for the last minutes they were looking for Adam.

"What!?" Lucas asked annoyed as Koda pointed back at the great hall where the big windows show them three big tornados in the middle of the crowd. And two of the tornados seem to be familiar.

"Adam!" Lucas said and rush to where the tornado came from.

"What happened?" Angelo asked when he saw how Lucas rush back to the hall.

"Find the headmaster now!" Koda just said to him and followed Lucas. Angelo then looked at Julius and they both leave the place to get the headmaster.

"Kevin!" / "Adam!" Xyder and Lucas said in chorus when they both arrived at the scene. But the two ignored them and seem to have been in another dimension that only them were included.

"Xyder stops them or you'll put Hera in danger!" Monica said almost in panic. Cyrus then looked at Monica like he never expected her to care about Hera at all. But then, Monica noticed Cyrus' reaction and she suddenly felt agitated.

"I meant not to have to deal with her when she fall sick after using so much mana for herself okay?" Monica defended herself from Cyrus's teasing look like they're telling her that she cares about Hera.  

"Oh really?" Cyrus teased like he can't believe her.

"Knock it off Cyrus or I'll burn you to death" Monica threatened him and Cyrus just chuckled and put his hands in the air as if he's surrendering, when his smile says otherwise.

Hera on the other side seems to already feel weakened.

"Kevin..I...I can't......" Hera tried to talk but it just made her weaker. Kevin didn't care at all and seems to be having a competition with Adam.

"Let go!" Kevin shouts as wind blades flew towards Adam and his ice bricks blocked it for him. Adam smirk.

"Is that all you got?" Adam mockingly said and fired five fireballs. But before it could hit Kevin a huge iceberg occludes, it was from Xyder.

Lucas then felt alarmed by how Xyder interfered with the fight and decided to step up and protect Adam. And that moment Monica felt that the fight might get even bigger and Hera might totally lose a lot of her mana so she decided something that will hurt Hera but at the same time, save the last mana that could save her too.

With Monica's elemental power of fire, she looked at Adam and Kevin's hands holding onto Hera and tried to burn them. After then, Adam and Kevin perceived that their hands that are holding Hera seem to be burning, so they both let go of Hera, at the same time, Xyder catches Hera's frail body before it hits the ground.

"Hera!" Even Cyrus rushed towards Hera when she fell on Xyder's arms.

Just then Kevin realized how Hera was endangered when he was just thinking of just competing with Adam for no reason at all.

"H-Hera..." Adam can see the horror in Kevin's face as he looked at Hera and rushed to her.

"I'm okay" Hera said with a soft voice and just smiled at Kevin. While Kevin seemed so worried.

With eyebrows meeting, Adam looked at Hera, and almost felt ugly when he saw that Hera was weak and her arms seemed to have bruises and burn. Adam for a minute felt worried, but then remembered that she was his enemy and just looked away from the scene.

"What is happening here?" The headmaster asked as soon as he arrives at the great hall and saw the place was a mess like some typhoon came and go. Students then answered him by making a way for him, which led him to the center of attention. The headmaster's eyes fell on the weak Hera on Xyder's arms and felt frightened when he noticed that a lot of mana came out from her body.

"Bring her to the infirmary now!" The headmaster ordered in a loud voice. 

Xyder even opposed Kevin when he tried to carry Hera, but he can't do anything but just let him. So Kevin carried Hera and asked where the infirmary was, and the headmaster ordered his assistant to accompany them. Monica, Cyrus, and the heavy-faced Xyder then followed them.

Now, the headmaster is facing the prince with eyes scrutinizing him.

"Now, tell me, your highness, what happened here?" The headmaster asked. Adam then breathes heavily and felt like he's burdened.

"I apologize for his highnesses behavior headmaster. He was just stressed out" Lucas answered for Adam. The headmaster then looked at Adam with judging eyes.

"I see, now how about we talk about that stress in my office?" The headmaster said and turned around and face the crowd. And with his scary look, the students seemed pretty intimidated.

"Go to your dormitories and leave this place to be cleaned! What you have seen today is nothing to be remembered tomorrow" The headmaster ordered and the students obeyed him as they all slowly went out the hall being accompanied by little pixies to their dorms.

The headmaster then looked back at the prince with his friends.

"Follow me" The headmaster said as he went ahead of them.

Hera on the other hand was being treated by a white witch with healing aptitude.

"Hera is a daughter of a white witch, why can't she just heal herself and get out of this drama?" Monica said rolling her eyes. Even the nurse who is healing Hera looked at Monica.

"White witches can't use their abilities for their own purposes young lady" the nurse said.

"You know she can't do that Monica. Do you really care about her that much?" Cyrus teased that burned his sleeves. But before the fire touches Cyrus' skin, it already died that muddled Monica.

"What---" Before Monica could speak, the nurse chime in.

"This is a none dangering area, if you wish to hurt your friend, bring him outside" The nurse said. Cyrus then sighed in relief knowing that this place is safe for him.

"Oh thank you" Cyrus said, more like a tease to Monica. And Monica just rolled her eyes at him.

After being treated, Hera still seems a little weak but she can already manage to walk but is still being guided by Kevin, so they all walk to their dormitory which is organized like a small village with certain spheres. And their dorm seems to be a little bigger than the other dorms.

"Here we are, your things are already inside. If you need any more help, whether with your things or about the academy, you can just call me by pressing the red button by the living room, thank you" The little pixie said and just went away after.

Then they all looked at each other.

"Are we really in a school? Or did we just moved in into a different village?" Cyrus asked.

"Probably a school Cyrus, I would never move in with you" Monica said as she went inside first followed by Xyder and the rest leaving him alone outside.

"Damn, what is wrong with that girl, but whatever it is... I like it" Cyrus said with a ludicrous smile on his face and went inside too.

"I am well aware that you will be the future ruler over all Celliondale, but that doesn't mean you could just bully newcomers and act rashly, do you, your highness?" The headmaster asked of Adam who is sitting down bored with his friends in front of the headmaster.

"Headmaster, his highness was just simply---" Lucas didn't finish what he was saying when Adam speaks up.

"I was just simply saying hi" Adam answered that frustrated Lucas more.

"Adam..." Even Koda was baffled by what Adam just answered.

"Yeah, saying hi with his murderous tornados yeah?" Julius said and made Angelo hit his head lightly.

"Just shut up Julius and stop butting in" Angelo said to him and Julius didn't care.

"Oh, your highness" The headmaster turned to massage his temples.

"I won't do it again" Adam added then the headmaster looked at him.

"I feel like you wanted otherwise, but okay. Let's just say I believed that, that was going to be the last one, but please don't create a big mess like today again" The headmaster said and Lucas seemed relieved at how it all turns out.

"Then can we leave now?" Koda boringly asked.

"If you may" The headmaster nods.

So they all turned to leave when the headmaster said something before they could even step a foot out of the office.

"Treat the lady well. I can say that even if I just took a glimpse of her earlier, that she was a beautiful young lady. You can't treat a beauty like her on her first day like that, right?" The headmaster said that paused Adam.

"I'll say hello next time" Adam sarcastically replied and they finally went out. 

Lucas looked at Adam and tried to examine him but Adam's expression was just so plain and blank.

"Yeah, I did notice that she was hot."Julius said out of nowhere when they finally went out and Lucas just glared at him.

"What? Just stating the fact" Julius said but his group just ignored him and walked faster.

"Hey wait up!" Julius called out loud as he catches up with them.

Then they all walk back to their classes.

"Hey, the little dude is here to pick us up and bring us to our classrooms" Cyrus said, and what he means by the little dude is the pixie who accompanied them earlier.

"Great, I've been wanting to get out of here" Monica said as she went out first followed by Xyder.

"Hera, are you feeling better now?" Kevin asked Hera who just wore her uniform's coat then just smiled and nodded at him.

"Of course I am. Who says I'm not?" Hera smile and went near to him as she fixes his necktie.

"Let's go?" Hera said then Kevin painted a faint smile on his face as he took Hera's hands and they walk out together. While Cyrus who was left behind look at them as they lovingly went out of their dorm.

"Seeing those two makes me want to meet my mate sooner" Cyrus said to himself and followed them out.

"Great now that everybody is here, I want to tell all of you that you are going to be in different classes base on your abilities and skills" The little pixie said as he swift his hands in the air and five pairs of golden white papers magically appeared in front of them still sparkling with magic dust.

"Wait a minute... What do you mean by, we were put into different classes?" Monica asked.

The little pixie then cleared his throat before answering Monica.

"It means, you'll all be separated from each other" the little pixie continued.

Hera, despite getting confused, looked at the paper in front of her, floating in the air, and took it.

"Laudamus?" Hera read out loud.

"Laudamus, the royale class" little pixie said. Then all of them started to get their own papers and read theirs too.

"Oh, we're in the same class Hera!" Cyrus said delightfully as he showed Hera his paper with a wide smile on his face.

Kevin then abruptly snatch his paper and read what's on it. While Cyrus took a peek at him when he seems disappointed.

"Oh, your Eques, same as Monica" Cyrus said.

"Eques, the knight class" Litlle pixie said.

Then everyone looked at Xyder. In the same way, Xyder looked at them and showed them his paper.

"Auxilium" Xyder said. 

Hera felt like she was taken advantage of. Their main mission is to steal the blue moon ore inside the palace, and their clan can finally have the chance to change fate, like what her father told her. To think of it, Hera knew that the Dreins already figured out that they were only at the academy for a purpose. So putting their team apart is a big advantage for them to slow their mission.

"Like how do you guys even decide where or what class were into?" Cyrus asked amused. Then the little pixie thinks for a minute and then turns to answer Cyrus.

"Like what I said earlier, it was based on your ability and skills" the little pixie said. And Monica was about to speak when a loud horn was heard.

"Classes are starting in ten minutes, save your questions for later and let's get you in classes now. You shouldn't be late on your first day of school" the little pixie said then turned around to leave. So they have nothing else to do but to follow him.

The first stop is Kevin and Monica's class, then goes to Xyder's, and lastly, they finally went to Hera and Cyrus's class who seems to be like the farthest classroom.

"Here we are" the little pixie said as they face the big double door which will lead them inside the classroom.

"Woah, this seems like a private class" Cyrus said out of the blue.

"Every class is private, this one is just extra private since royalties are included in this class" the little pixie said that made both Hera and Cyrus look at him.

"What do you mean?" Hera asked.

"The highnesses are in this class" the little pixie simply replied that made Hera's heartbeat race.

She can't be in the same class as that prince! That's the last thing she ever wanted to happen, to be in the same place where her enemy is.

"Oops, I gotta go" the little pixie said and is about to leave when Hera called out for him.

"Wait!" Hera uttered. But she can't say she doesn't want to be in this class, so she made another excuse for her behavior.

"What is it milady?" the little pixie asks.

"What is your name?" Hera asked too, in return.

"Oh, it feels nice that you ask. Hi, I'm Orion, and you are?" Orion the little pixie asks.

"I'm Hera.." Hera answered with a big smile.

"Nice to meet you Hera, but you need to get in class now. I'll see you later" Orion said as he winked at her before he turned to leave and disappeared like a bubble in the air like he did the last time.

"Well, it's nice to know that he has a name. Anyway, let's get inside now Hera" Cyrus said.

Hera looked at Cyrus the smiled.

"Okay..." Hera said as her heart thump harder.

And when Cyrus opened the door, they felt like they weren't in a classroom at all. Desks are like offices and on the far side of the classroom is a living room. 

"I think that little dude took us to the wrong room" Cyrus said as Hera thought so.

The while they were mesmerizing the place, a cute and pretty girl came to greet them.

"Hi, I'm Agatha, and welcome to Laudamus" The girl named Agatha said with a bright smile.

"Hello" Hera greeted as Agatha then clung into her arms that somehow frighten her.

"I'm also new here, can we be friends?" Agatha asked then Hera smile brightly in delight.

"Of course!" Hera answered cheerfully. Then Agatha showed Hera her seat which is just beside her. While Cyrus already found another friend to talk with.

It is the first time Hera ever had someone who wanted to be friends with her. She always has been just a loner since she was little until Kevin and the rest came into her life, so having a new friend is flattering her.

"Aren't you the girl from the party earlier? The one stuck between two handsome gentlemen?" Agatha asked excitedly while Hera just shakes her head lightly.

"I don't want to talk about it" Hera replied.

Hera and Agatha then started chatting further with each other when the door opened and it shows five handsome guys with their superior look.

Hera then looked at the familiar face of her enemy who seems expecting her already. And once again, their eyes met.

"It's him from earlier. He's in the same class as ours" Agatha said as soon as she notices them. And Hera said nothing about it.

"This is a coincidence" Agatha said still amused.

Hera saw how Adam smirked before sitting on his own seat and felt chills all over her.

"There is no coincidence" Hera said.

"What? Did you say something?" Agatha asked but Hera just shook her head as a response and Agatha seems to believe her.

'If this is what they want, then be it' Hera said to herself.
