Chapter 8: Danny
For Danny, as lead counsel, the Rio Rancho court appearance was compulsory as well as time-consuming. He’d walked Monica back to the office after their lunch, then walked to the courthouse, where he went through the motions before a judge whose level of commitment to the proceedings matched Danny’s pretty evenly. Eventually the formalities were dispensed with. The judge took Danny’s motions under advisement and scheduled a hearing for her ruling two weeks down the road, as Danny had anticipated when he’d advised the Rio Rancho Resort developers not to expect any definitive action until later in the month.
