SOME BIG CHANGES
In the good old days when bank managers were in sole charge of a branch, they saw themselves as ambassadors of the profession, setting an example of stern benevolence backed by a keen business acumen. Sobriety indeed was their hallmark.
Not so with the arrival of the new manager at Fleetgate Bank. As soon as he opened the door, he grasped the door frame above his head and pulled himself up into a gymnastic position and proceeded to swing his legs backwards and forwards energetically before lowering himself again.
