Episode 5: Why am I jealous? You aren't even mine

1000 Words
"Oh no no no no." You pull back from the door. There's no way you just saw that. You pull yourself up and realize you are shaking. As you run back to your room, you analyze the situation you are in. You close your door and collapse on the floor. Tears fall down your face and you hold back sobs. Why do I care so much? He doesn't like me. I knew it from the beginning, but this hurts so much more than I thought I would. You lie on the floor, fetal position, and rock yourself. You feel so lightheaded. I feel so stupid. You curl yourself tighter and try and comfort yourself. You barely know him. You aren't friends, you are barely colleagues. Of course, he has the right to do whatever he wants with another person, you have no control of that. It's not your place. It's not like you were dating, you just hung out a few times. He probably doesn't even think about you. After about 10 minutes of crying, your lightheadedness has turned into a painful headache. You start to pass out from the pain until your mind goes blank. A man materializes. The same man, surrounded by purple mist. The same as last time. He talks to a woman, his back turned to you. He seems to notice you somehow, even though you feel nonexistent. He turns to face you and walks toward you. Around you is a void and blackness and you view him almost through a glass screen, but he steps through and joins you. He stands in front of you, pity wafting off him in waves. He moves next to you and looks at you with glowing yellow eyes. "What brings you to my mind?" You look at him without saying anything. He looks around taking in the space. "Lucky I caught you, nonetheless. You've probably seen too much already. Not that there is much to see." He reaches over to grab your arm, but his hand seems to fall through you. "Huh." You cower in front of him, scared like you've never been before."I cannot touch you," he murmurs. He tries again with the same result. You shiver slightly though he never actually touched you. "I guess I will just have to terminate your real body." He sighs and looks around you again though nothing changed. "This does not appear to be a purposeful intrusion, so I will let you go. It wouldn't be a logical use of my time to eradicate a child." His eyes darken. He leans in and glowers down at you. "If you trespass within my mind again, I promise I will hunt you down with forces that you should very much fear." He leaves you on the ground and exits through the screen. You feel as though you are falling through the bottom of the surface you sit on. The world darkens till you cannot see anything. You hit your floor with a thud. You remain on the floor for a minute, taking in what you just experienced. More tears spill from your eyes, and you hear someone sob. It may be you, but you cannot tell. A sudden thumping against your door brings you out of your stupor. Bakugou barges in and sees you on the floor. "What the hell have you done Y/N?", he whispers. He crouches to the floor and pulls you into his arms. He gently lifts you from the floor and places you on your bed. "Can you look at me?" he asks. You look up at him. His beautiful eyes seem to flutter when you look at him. The red of his eyes seems... softer. Not the blazing bright fire like before. Honestly, you to were never that close before. You never really had any actual conversations. And yet, you seem to have already become closer to him than most of your classmates. At least you can talk and not feel completely uncomfortable. And it's barely been any time at all. Just a few short nights working with him and the angry boy you knew became more of a force than a monster. The fact that the whole reason you got close with him was because the school was worried he wasn't human is insane. How did this all get so out of control so soon? "Y/N? I'm going to take you to Recovery Girl. I think this is worse than I originally thought." He tries to lift you gently but his fear must have filled him with adrenaline. He ends up roughly picking you up but you don't react at all. It almost feels as if you can't. You know that this feeling of weakness is a side effect of your quirk, but it is far worse than usual right now. You keep yourself as close to him as you can, trying to calm yourself. As if you didn't see anything earlier. As if nothing happened. Bakugou caries you hall the way to Recovery Girl. They speak briefly and then he leaves. He does not say goodbye. Recovery Girl comes up to the bed you lay in and speaks, but the words are almost unintelligible. She turns away from you and then walks to the bedside counter, and then walks to a desk in the corner of the room. The ceiling swirls above you in beautiful spaces made of ceiling tiles and lights. How many times have you ended up here in the hospital in the past few weeks? As you lay there and your exhaustion takes its toll, you start to blink slower and slower. You see Recovery Girl moving around but it's almost impossible for you to see what she is doing. After a few minutes of you slowly falling into yet another deep sleep Recovery Girl returns to your side. The last thing you see before you close your eyes is Recovery Girl leaning in to give you a big kiss of healing.
