Matt (P.O.V)
As I took Officer Josh inside the house, to the dining room where my mom lay on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Officer Josh quickly ran to her side and was checking her body then he called out to Officer Nate. “Nate, Come quickly! Bring the Medics!”, and I heard the sound of many footsteps rushing towards us.
Theo (P.O.V)
My head is pounding and it feels so heavy. All I can hear is shouting and the sound of many footsteps in my house. Wait a minute, it sounds like there's so many people in my house. Why are all these people in my house?
“Who are you people? And what are you doing in my house?” I shout out as I struggle to get up from the couch were I have been lying. When I finally get to my feet, I staggered towards the noise as I shout out again, “Margo, what are these people doing in my house?... Where are you?... Margo, answer me women!... If you don't answer me right this minute… Don't test my patience girl!”
“Matt where are you?..” I continue to shout out. The next minute two officers come up to me and they begin reading me my rights while arresting me. Alarmed I shout at them, “What do you think you're doing? And why are you in my house? Answer me, Damit!” I growl at them.
The officer with the blonde hair and blue eyes explained to me that I'm being arrested for domestic violence and that anything I say will be held against me in the court of law. I shout at him again “Do you know who I am? Do you know what you doing? Do you know who you're messing with boy?” He then again tries to calm me down and states, “Sir, I am Officer Josh and you need to calm down. You’re scaring Matt. I think the night in the jail cell will sober you up, then maybe we can talk in the morning.” With that officer Josh and his partner took me out of the house and put me into the police vehicle, as we drove off I could see the paramedics running up and down through the house.
I begin to think back at what happened and why I'm being arrested and why paramedics will be moving around with a sense of urgency. Slowly my memories start coming flooding back. I realise just then how I was with Margo and how far went this time. “No! No! No! No!” I say to myself in an almost whisper, “This Can't Be! Did I actually go this far with Margo, while she's pregnant? I start questioning myself how did I end up here?
I can still remember the first time I laid eyes on Margo. It feels like it was a different time when I was a different person all together. I don't think I'll forgive myself if anything happens to Margo and the babies. Yes I know I said I didn’t want the babies but that was because I did not want to be saddled at my young age with 3 kids. One is fine for now but there I might as well be an old man. I am not ready to have grey hair yet. To make it worse its twin girls, boys are better to raise than girls. I was not prepared for this and I don’t think I ever will be. Why couldn’t Margo make sure she was on the birth control pills to prevent the pregnancy in the first place? Everything is just so messed up right now. All I can do now is lay and think about all the mistakes I've made and try to find a way to make it up to them, if I make it out of here. Of which I’m sure I will, when they give me a chance I will call my lawyer. One thing I learnt when I made it big was that money and the right connections can get you anything you want. So I am sure I will be out of here in the morning. Maybe I will even sue these officers for arresting me who knows, we’ll see in the morning. As Officer Josh locks me up in the jail cell I lay down on my bed that's rock hard because it’s made of steel with no mattress on it, staring up at the ceiling my memories begin to take over.
My parents (Abellone & Aeneas Andino) came from Thessaly Valley in Kalambaka, a city originally protected by the surreal rock formations of Meteora. My father, Aeneas, was a farmer and my mother, Abellone, was a homemaker. They relocated to Athens 3 years before I was born for a better future. When my father sold his land and crops, he had enough money to start AA Properties, a small real estate business in Athens at the time. The business grew, but my dad didn't have big dreams. He was content just being comfortable; as long as his family did not lack anything, he was fine. I was good at basketball and planned to make a career out of it. So I managed to get accepted by the biggest team in Athens, The Tigreis National Team and was invites to play for them straight out of high school. Their team players came from all over Greece. The good news was that they even gave me a scholarship to study a business degree with an online college because we would travel a lot, not that I needed it because my parents could afford to send me to university but I loved basketball more. That was when I met Margo. We had just come home in the half way break for a week before we went back to finish the second half of the International Championships, when I went out that night with my team mates. Álogo’s Bar was very popular among the athletes especially basketball players. That was the hot spot to enjoy cold beers and hot finger foods especially their hot wings and just have a good time. There were always easy girls at the bar if you wanted to have a one night stand with no strings attached. This was every athletes dream especially at such a young age. Nobody wants to be tied down so young.
