Maria’s POV:
It’s surprising to hear real words from a man you didn’t expect to be even a little serious. When he spoke about marrying me to his father, I was more than startled. There was a bit of excitement but more confusion and a lot of questions were built up in my head from those words.
Was he serious? I thought to myself. He wouldn’t lie to his brother or father about me right? I stopped trusting him since the conversation I heard between James and Claire. It shook me but what he had done to me today was much worse than anything else. I didn’t even know if I could ever forgive him for that.
