Chapter 19 The next morning, I woke up in James bed, sore and bruised; my back was aching but not as terribly as yesterday. Maybe it was the outcome on the injections and medicines placed on the table beside the bed that I wasn’t feeling that much pain. But the ache in my heart wasn’t going to away any time soon regardless of how many medicines James would give me. As I moved my legs down, the door burst open and James walked inside. He gave me a look of surprise before closing the door behind him. I swallowed as he approached me. “How are you?” He asked, with no regret in his tone. I didn’t answer. Narrowing my eyes, I got up and walked pass him to leave this place, and maybe him. What was the use of loving someone when he was being controlled by someone else? His father was right.
