"Let me help you!" Something in her voice reached him, and he stilled enough for her to start swimming toward shore, dragging him with her. Each stroke was agony against the powerful current, but her wolf wouldn't let her give up. Finally, her feet touched rocks. She pushed Kade ahead of her toward the bank where Dante and Renn were waiting. Strong hands reached down, pulling the young warrior to safety first, then grasping Laura's arms as she struggled up the slippery bank.
