Ryke called Scarlett around midday to hear her voice. Wasting away one day of work had been more impactful than he expected. There were lots of partner meetings that had to be postponed and now, Mr. Goldwin refused to let him go anywhere until all the work was done.
Ryke hated it but knew it was the right thing to do. As much as he wished to go see Scarlett, he still needed to make money and keep his partners satisfied. The only thing he could do, was give her a call during his lunch break. There was a lot of noise coming from her side and she huffed, as if carrying heavy things.
« I am just...Cleaning up. I washed the bedsheets and they are all dry and nice. I will store them away and then dust a little. »
