In the chairman office of the Quarry building, Scarlett’s father sat behind his desk, jaw clenched. In front him, there was Austin and Megan, sitting on the couch but maintaining a solid distance between them.
Megan could still feel the tension between them: Austin had become doubtful of her. On the other hand, her father’s anger and disappointment increased her anxiety.
