(This chapter contains Nudity and violence)
Rena:
Rena slowly blinked her eyes open. The chirping of birds woke her up. She stretched out her body looking up as the sunlight shone through the trees. What happened I said to myself as I looked around the forest.
Standing up I looked down and immediately wished I hadn't. I was in the middle of nowhere with no clothes on. Everything came rushing back to me. The fighting at home. Me transforming into a wolf. Tony tried to shoot me and I ran for what seemed like forever till I couldn't move another inch and had laid down in the woods.
I heard footsteps coming fast towards me. Could it be Tony? Surely there was no way he could have followed me this far. Wherever this was. Crouching down near the tree I felt the bark scraping against my bareback. Scrapes were the least of my concern.
The footsteps stopped and I could tell it wasn't tony. They were too light.
“Who’s there,” a female voice said with terror in her voice.
I peeked my head around to the other side of the tree and saw a girl standing on the other side of the tree. She was wearing the same thing as me. Nothing. She had red hair that probably would have been pretty if it wasn't for the twigs and leaves in her hair.
“Who are you,” we both said in unison as we stood in front of each other.
Before either of us could answer we heard wolves howling. It sounded like it was everywhere all at once.
The girl quickly put her hand over my mouth while holding her finger up to her mouth motioning me to be quiet. We tried not to make a noise but I’m sure whoever or whatever else was out there could hear my heart trying to explode through my chest from fear.
“I can hear you...Girls” a menacing voice said coming closer to where we were hidden. I looked over to the girl standing with me and saw the terror in her eyes.
“Come on Natalia. We just want to play. Why don't you introduce us to your new friend” a man said stepping out from behind a tree 10 feet away from us. Normally I would have been shocked to see someone standing there naked but there was something much scarier. His eyes had the look of a cold-blooded killer. In his hands, he had a gun pointed at us.
“Run,” Natalia said pushing me in front of her as we ran deeper into the woods. I was so terrified I ignored the pain from my bare feet on the ground.
“Ahhh” I heard a scream and turned around to see Natalia had been shot by the man chasing us. She fell to the grown withering in pain.
“Leave her alone,” I said running back to her and throwing my body over her unconscious form.
“What do you want to do with this one,” a man said standing behind us.
“That is the question isn't it” the man who shot Natalia said sniffing the air.
Turning to look at me I didn't move an inch. I was afraid he would shoot me too. What was going on with my life? And who were these people?
“What pack are you in” he hissed pulling me up by my arm and holding me close as he continued to sniff me.
I held back the tears that threatened to spill over.
“Pack? What's a pack? I don't know what you are talking about” I said trying to pull away from the man.
Both men laughed at my answer which just confused me more.
“I guess we’ll take them both. Hurry up, load them up in the van” the man said he must have been the man in charge. I was hoping he was going to let me go but that didn't look like that was going to happen.
“Ow,” I screamed trying to turn and look at the man who had remained behind us. I saw him pulling a needle out of my back. He grabbed me like I weighed nothing at all and threw me over my shoulder. I tried to scream. I tried to move. It was like my body didn't belong to me anymore. Whatever he had injected me with was some scary s**t.
Lucas:
“I don't see how Natalia could just disappear,” I said slamming my fist down on my desk in my office. Everyone in the room jumped at my anger and felt my aura push down on them.
“Alpha your cousin was returning from Chicago. We checked her credit cards and the last place she had used them was at a diner in St. Louis” my beta Myles said setting the documents down in front of me.
I tried to control my anger as I wondered how this was important. All that mattered was finding my cousin Natalia safe and sound. I had promised her parents before they passed away that I would always protect her. She was like a younger sister to me.
Myles walked over behind my desk and pointed to the map that hung on the wall.
“Look Luke,” he said pointing to a pack on the other side of the state from where my cousin was last seen.
I hit my fist against the wall realizing where his thought process was going.
“Alpha Jett” I growled making everyone step back. Alpha Jett was the alpha of the Stone Moon Pack in Kansas City, Missouri. He had taken a liking to Natalia when they were teenagers. And when she became 18 and was able to find her mate he immediately hoped they were mates. Which they were not. Thank the goddess for Natalia. Jett was cruel and abusive and there were rumors of him doing unthinkable acts to women. He had gone so far as to torture and kill any man who had shown Natalia any romantic interest.
“If he harmed her I’m going to rip his throat out” I raged.
“We have the jet standing by. We can be there in 2 hours” Myles said as he took a step closer trying to help calm me down. He was the best friend a guy could have.
“Make the arrangements,” I said as I sat at my desk and contemplated what was going to happen when we found him.
