“I hadn’t said anything to anyone,” Richard admitted. “I’m guessing Rain’s on that list of people you didn’t talk to as well.” The mumbled yes Richard had to give voice to left a bitter taste in his mouth and led him to close the conversation with his sister. He’d f****d up before but had never wanted to beat his head against a wall so badly in his life. He failed. Relationships are about trust and honesty, and he had failed in a glorious fashion at both. Richard should have said something to Rain the moment suspicion started brewing. Instead, he had let suspicion build, and once it started playing catch with past situations in his brain, suspicion turned into fact. It wasn’t fair of him to do that to Rain, and he knew that. If he could have kicked his own ass that day, he would have. H
