Chapter two

A ticket to glory

"so, here goes nothing......"Sylvia thought. she took a deep breath then she started to sing her favorite song which was titled "shining star"which was written by herself.

"wow, that was amazing Sylvia. who taught you that song because those lyrics are amazing" Tiffany commented. Sylvia was about to say that someone taught her when she paused.

"what if this is my Godsent ticket to glory?No, I can't let this opportunity pass me by"she thought .

"um hello oo, who wrote that song?" Tiffany asked feeling impatient.

"it's me, Sylvia " she replied feeling confident and nervous at the same time.

"wow! I must say, you have talent. here take my card and contact my manager anytime you want to see me and you're ready for business. you got talent kid"Tiffany replied.

Tiffany handed her her business card as Sylvia collected it with trembling hands. she then proceeded to give the restaurant a five star rating and handed Sylvia a huge tip. then she slipped into her limousine and left.

The manager was very thankful to Sylvia and promised her a raise by the end of the month. Sylvia was over the moon that day and had totally forgotten about the incident that happened at school .

Later that day, as she was going home. she was waiting at the bus stop when she received a text message from Kyle,"hey, I hope you're all better now, just said I should check on you, good night ." she smiled as she sent her reply "I'm good thanks for asking, see you tomorrow, good night". she put her phone in her bag as she entered the bus and took a seat and the bus started to move as it loaded it's passengers.

As she dropped off at her bus stop, she made sure to stop at the nearest supermarket to buy what aunt Leah would use to make dinner. when she was done shopping, she went back home.

"Hello oo, Aunt Leah am back and I have great news for you" but no one answered. as she dropped the groceries on the living room, she heard faint crying voices from the dining room and she saw aunt Leah crying, she quickly walked over to her and comforted her."they came again darling, the loan sharks. they said they want their money as soon as possible and I don't have any money right now Sylvia" aunt Leah sobbed. "don't worry mom, a super star that came to where I work gave me a huge tip for singing for her, so you can use the money to clear their debt one and for all okay? please don't cry, it's gonna be alright".

Aunt Leah was more than excited and happy to hear that news, "oh darling you're an angel , am so proud of you sweetie"and they hugged. Later on, aunt Leah prepared a sumptuous dinner which they both enjoyed of course.after dinner, they chatted and finally went to bed.

***The next day***

Sylvia woke up in a good mood with zero negative energy around her and you could tell she had a really good night rest. she showered and changed into a green crop top and wore a green hoodie over it , with a green skirt. she took her bag and breakfast and kissed aunt Leah good-bye.

Sylvia was by her locker when Kyle came running towards her, he then stopped in front of her to catch his breath.

"Oh my God Sylvia, you won't believe what happened" Kyle said panting.

"Um okay but firstly can you calm down for a bit?"Sylvia replied, then he calmed down and explained everything.Apparently, there was an audition for people who want to become a worldwide super star. immediately Sylvia's brain digested that information, she squealed with excitement.

"Oh my God , Oh my God , Oh my God, that's amazing news Kyle. This might finally be my chance" she said happily.

"I know right? better go apply before all slots are taken. It says that the maximum of contestants is 100 so you better be quick". And without thinking twice about it, she ran down the hallway like a crazy person to the application center. as she was signing up, she heard a voice behind her and she could recognize that voice anywhere.

"Daniella!"she thought as she turned around to face the duo.

"well, well, well, if it isn't the poor loser trying to get rich and famous. I guess this school just allow any rubbish to pass by". Layla spat.

"Well princess, if the school isn't up to your satisfaction, you could just kindly get your butt outta here" Sylvia replied with a smug face .she was already having a good day and she was not ready for anyone to ruin it.

"Seems like our little caterpillar Sylvia Plath is now grown to a huge butterfly now, what makes you think you can talk to us in that manner, huh?"Daniella lashed. But Sylvia didn't move a flinch. infact, she was already ready for them. when she was done signing up. she then faced them squarely and she did the only thing she knew that would annoy them the most ....... Not replying to their hateful comments and just simply smirked. Layla was infuriated and walked over to slap her but Sylvia dodged just in time making Layla fall down in a humiliating manner. some students who were nearby started snickering. Daniella rushed over to help her but she pushed her out of frustration making her to fall on her butt thereby sparking another round of laughter from the students.

"You'll pay for this you little brat" Daniella yelled as Sylvia flipped her hair and strodded down the hall feeling like a million bucks.

School activities went out well as usual and also went good at her part time job also.As she got off work and she was waiting at a side walk to cross the road, she suddenly realized that an old woman was about to get hit by a truck and without thinking, she jumped forward and pushed herself and the woman to the other side.

Lucky for her, she managed to save her. as she helped the woman get up, she sat down on a bench as she called the police to come pick her up but the woman stopped her."don't worry, I know my way back home. that's you child for saving me today and as a reward for your bravery take this". the woman reached for her bag and brought out what looked like an old necklace with a moon pendant on it,she put it in her hand and folded it. "please, don't refuse it, you are chosen for this" then the woman picked up her bag and left.

"What in the name of potatoes just happened, the chosen who now?" she said to herself then she later assumed the woman was crazy and she was just being nice and she went home. when she arrived home , she wanted to tell aunt Leah about the incident that happened earlier but she hesitated, a voice inside her strongly told her not to tell anyone and she agreed. they all had dinner and went to bed.

when Sylvia was about to sleep, she brought out the necklace and noticed something weird about it then she suddenly had a rare vision..................
