Daniel's dagger pressed against my waist, its chill seeping through the thin fabric to my skin. His breathing was heavy and reeked of alcohol. With his arm clamped around my throat, he dragged me backward while several Rogues pinned my limbs to keep me from moving. All around us, the Rogues bared their teeth, growls rising and falling. "Daniel, have you lost your mind?" I gritted out, my fingers inching toward the mechanism on my watch. "I have!" he roared, pushing the blade closer. "You ruined me! Leo ruined me! Now I'll make both of you taste despair!" Rapid footsteps sounded at the end of the corridor. Leo charged toward us with the guards, only to stop dead the moment he saw me held hostage.
