Laylah watched the great expanse of the Pacific Ocean.
She and Zahra had never parted ways since their childhood and the thought that there was now an entire ocean separating them saddened her. They had always been close; they were the Bonnie and Clyde—together in everything they ever did. It was true that she was the most enthusiastic one in their friendship and oftentimes managed to rope Zahra into her wild plans; without Zahra the great adventure now seemed bleak.
