20. Accidentally Spilled the Truth
“Coffee?”
She said with smile playing on her lips and her eyes were sparkling. After that she left the meeting room leaving me in a daze.
“Huh..?”
I was stunned on my place as her words landed on my ears.

Rabnoor’s P.O.V
After exiting from the meeting room, I rushed towards my desk. I asked Sid to wait for me at the ground floor, so that we can go to a coffee shop near our office.
Well we can have coffee at our office as well but he insisted on coming out of office. I don’t know why he said so.
As soon as I reached my desk, I grabbed my wallet and mobile and left for elevator. Using elevator, I reached the ground floor and saw Sid waiting for me leaning against a car.
It was not any normal car; it was a grey coloured Mercedes Benz.
I am guessing it is not his car. It must be someone else car and he must be just standing there while waiting for me.
And the way he was standing there leaning on that car. He was looking damn handsome. He was busy in checking something on his phone. He was wearing black shades on his eyes. Only now I noticed what he was wearing. He was wearing an off-white blazer with a V-neck black tee-shirt and black denim. After taking in a good look of his handsomeness, I quickly averted my gaze off him.
‘What am I doing?’
“s**t” I murmured under my breath.
‘I should not look anyone like that’
I felt heat rushing towards my face, especially from my cheeks.
‘Oh God, What is happening to me’
Pushing all the thoughts aside I ushered towards him. As I approached him, he straightened his posture and smiled towards me.
“Shall we?” he said while gesturing with his hands towards the Mercedes and then he opened the back door of the car for me to enter and I heard him saying “Please come”.
“Huh..?” I was stunned on my place as I was not expecting this coming from him. From the time I met him today he was behaving like an arrogant creep.
And now suddenly he became gentleman.
Looking my shocked state, he chuckled slightly.
“What happened?” he asked me.
“Mmm…nothing” I replied plainly looking away from him.
“Okay…can you please enter the car?.... I am waiting here while holding the door for you.” He said still holding the door for me.
“Can't we just walk to the café? It is just three buildings away from ours.” I suggested him looking toward his expensive car.
I am a very simple girl from a middle class family.
In our types of families we are used to live a simple life. We always focus on fulfilling our basic necessities to live a peaceful life.
Luxurious items, branded clothes and expensive cars etc are not our cup of tea as they belong to high class society and will always remain out of budget for us.
My parents always taught my Veerji (Bhai/brother) and me from our childhood to live a simple and undemanding life. And always do Shukrana (thankful) to Waheguru ji (God) for what we have in our life instead of thinking about what others have that we don’t have.
But some friends of mine from school that too belonged to middle class families, have always wanted to achieve a luxurious life. They always dreamed of that one day their Prince Charming will come in an Expensive Car, wearing Branded Clothes and provide them with all the riches of life and take them away from this miserable life of theirs’.
But I am not like any of them.
I seek happiness in simple things and want to live a simple life. I was never into dreaming about any prince charming coming for me with his luxurious life.
These expensive items are nothing but only waste of money for me.
And that is the reason for which I prefer to walk to the coffee shop rather than going in his expensive car and that too for such a short distance journey.
“What?? Are you serious about this?” he asked me. Shock was evident on his face.
“Yes” I mouthed lowly and started walking towards the exit of the building.
“Huh??”
I heard him behind me. He sighed loudly and closed the door of the car before running up to me.
We walked to the café. The walk was full of silence and I really thank God for that but I know he will not drop this topic so easily.
And that’s what happened.
As soon as we entered, we looked up for an empty place and luckily found one.
After settling down in our seats, a familiar young boy came to take our orders.
“Hello” he said to me and “Good morning… what would you like to have?” he asked looking toward both of us.
“A cappuccino for me and Rabnoor, what will you like to have?” Sid asked me.
“I will have my classic coffee.” I said smilingly to that boy
“Double shots of coffee and no cream only milk, RIGHT?” he asked me with a wide smile.
“Yes, Thanks” I replied sharing a knowing look.
“I’ll be right back with your order”. He scribbled our orders on his small notepad and left.
“Hmmm….Looks like you visits here quite often” he asked me.
“Not often but yes sometimes after having a stressful day, me and my friend come here to grab a good cup of coffee. And I always order only this classic coffee.” I told him.
“Friend?” he asked raising his eyebrow.
I shrugged to his questioning look.
Again a strange silence fell between us.
‘Now What?’ I thought looking at my hands that were resting on table.
I came here on Mr. Thakur’s suggestion, but now what will I do.
‘I have no idea what to talk with him’ thinking of this I started fidgeting my fingers nervously.
I guess he must have sensed my nervous state. So for breaking this wall of awkwardness, he cleared his throat. I raised my eyes from my hands to look him.
“I guess we are here to know each other so that we can work together. Sitting in silence will not help us out.” He said looking toward me.
“You already know many things about me from Dad.” He said.
“Dad???..Huh?” I asked him getting confused.
