17. Siddharth’s P.O.V.- continued
‘Why everyone is looking towards her?’
‘Is she is having any connection with it?’
‘Please somebody tell me too’
I was hell confused now. And to overcome my confusion, I too looked towards her direction.
Then I noticed her face closely, she was looking shocked.
‘Why she is looking shocked?’
‘I am really not getting ‘what is going on here?’
I saw her eyes moving here and there. Maybe she must be thinking about something.
‘But what is she thinking?’
She closed her eyes and then took a deep breath. It looked like she must be in her deep thoughts.
Then she opened her eyes and looked toward Mr. Thakur and my Dad.
And she took a long deep breath and started to voice out her thoughts,
“But Sir, I…”
She was cut off in the middle of what she was about to say by Mr.Thakur by saying,
“Rabnoooor”
‘Ohh……So, She is Rabnoor.’
‘What?’
‘Rabnoor?.....She is that Rabnoor, whom Mr. Thakur was talking about?’
‘Holy s**t!’
My head snapped in Mr. thakur’s direction as realization hit me.
My eyes must have gone wide by now, as I am hell shocked.
I saw that Mr. Thakur assured her by some gestures. I can clearly see, dejection was evident on her face.
Meanwhile I thought in my mind that as per Mr. Thakur if she is the one who is going to be with me on this assignment then what will be going to happen. And immediately my mind started to imagine things like:-
‘That means only me and her’
‘Working together’
‘We will come across each other again and again till the event’
‘I could touch her, be close to her, invading her personal space, ……and what not’
My mind started doing a happy dance on thinking about the wild possibilities and consequences.
I looked up towards her and caught her looking towards me.
‘Mmmm….nice’ I thought and smirked to her.
And I saw how her eyes go wide on my simple action.
‘Ohh …I loved it.. I totally loved her reaction.’
She raised her eyebrow on me and shot a rage-filled glare to me.
Then she abruptly turned her gaze off me and back to Mr. Thakur.
And I heard Mr. Thakur continuing,“Sir, Rabnoor is the best person of my department and she has all the experience that Sid needs for this App-Launch Event. I have full confidence on her. And I assure you that she can handle this whole event and she will never let us down.”
‘Hmm right… so all this meant that she will be my boss’
‘As she knows everything and I …I am callow and useless’
Thinking all I scowled and my all happy emotion turned sour.
I was frowning thinking all this when I noticed something sparkling in her eyes. She was looking extremely proud and happy.
When everyone was looking toward my Dad, only she was looking towards me.
Mischievousness can be witnessed on her face. She wiggled her brows playfully and smirked.
‘What the hell’
‘Did she just smirk to me?’
She was looking very happy and satisfied.
I turned my eyes toward my Dad and found him smiling and he began speaking,“So its decided then, Rabnoor and Sid, both will be doing this assignment.
And I hope this App –Launch event will be a huge success for our company and for both Sid and Rabnoor too.”
He turned his eyes toward me and said, “This event will launch Sid in our business world” and then looked to her and said, “And will provide many benefits to Rabnoor’s Career as well.”
“The App-Launch will be on 20 June, which is exactly two months from now. So get going you two. Best of luck to both of you.” Dad informed us about the date of App-Launch.
All clapped together and cheered for us.
“So, I will see you guys soon.” Dad said and stood from his chair. We all got up from our seats too.
Finally the meeting came to an end and I heaved a big sigh of relief.
Dad reached toward her and said slowly, “Rabnoor, I want you to be a guiding spirit for Sid and I wish you both will make up a great team.” Saying this he extended his hand in her direction for a handshake.
She happily accepted his hand for the handshake.
“I want you to meet me in my office post lunch.” Dad again said to her.
As he said these words I frowned a little anticipating ‘why Dad wants to meet her in his office?’
After saying those words to Rabnoor, Dad leaned close to her ear and whispered something, which I don’t have any idea about.
I didn’t get the chance to look at her expressions but I heard a giggle escaping from her.
‘What are they laughing at?’
I saw Dad straightening his posture while adjusting his blazer. Then I heard her saying, “Yes Sir, I will be there post lunch.” and she gave Dad a firm nod.
After that Dad took leave from meeting room. And I think I should take my leave too. But I think I should talk to my brand new mentor before leaving this meeting room.
‘Hmm …brand new mentor’
‘I like it’
I also bid my byes to Mr. Thakur and that Satya guy and ushered toward Miss Mentor.
I reached in front of her and took a turn to face her.
But as I faced her, she rolled her eyes to me and turn on her heels. She began to pick her belonging from the table.
‘What??’
‘It is the first time in my life when I am approaching a girl to talk to her and she, instead of getting excited, turned on her heels to show me her back like letting me know ‘not interested’.’
‘Huh..???’
Back in London, girls always try to attract me with their means and I never heed any importance to them.
But this girl is different,….. not little …..rather completely different from them. And maybe that is what I like about her more.
Before I can utter a single word to her Mr. Thakur called her, “Ahm…Rabnoor” scratching his forehead with his thumb.
“Yes, Sir” she replied instantly, looking towards him and I was still standing behind her facing her back.
“I think you should stay back here with Sid. As you both have to work together from now on, you should get to know each other first. Have coffee or lunch together, and you both can discuss about your ideas regarding the launch event. You can ask from Satya and Pooja for suggestions. Okay.?” Mr. Thakur exclaimed.
‘Oh..la..la…’
‘Lunch or Coffee together’
This man has a point and I like his point’.
