New Day

586 Words
After exiting her house she looked for any passenger vehicle that could help her reaching metro station. She takes this kind of passenger vehicles to commute daily while going to and coming back from the metro station. There are sometimes when her Papa or brother also give pick or drop her. But she likes to do this on her own. Some days it is very difficult to find any vacant vehicle because of the peak office hours. If one gets an empty vehicle in one go, then one can assume that it is your lucky day. And luckily she saw an e-rickshaw approaching her and she waved her hand gesturing the driver to stop the vehicle. (Electric rickshaws or e-rickshaw have been becoming more popular in most cities of India since 2008 as an alternative to auto rickshaws and pulled rickshaws because of their low fuel cost, and less human effort compared to pulled rickshaws.  They are being widely accepted as an alternative to petrol/diesel/CNG auto rickshaws. They are on sharing basis with minimal fares charged, that is why they are popular these days.) On seeing a girl waving her hand to stop, it stops near her. She asked the driver to where they are heading. The driver told her that they are going towards the metro station. She asked driver if they have any vacant seat for her. Driver only nodded his head. After getting a positive response from the driver of e-rickshaw, she quickly hopped in e-rickshaw and as soon as she settled on a passenger seat, driver made its way towards the metro station. As soon as she reached metro station, she paid for her fare to the driver and moved toward the station. She is now standing and waiting for her metro, leaning against a pillar. Cool breeze of morning is caressing her face and body.  Some loose strands of hairs are moving freely across her face. Her heart is at peace today. Unknowingly a smile crept on her face as she felt happy from within. The metro arrived in few minutes. She quickly boarded her train. It took her around thirty five minutes to reach her destination. After exiting the station, she made her way to Gurudwara Sahib (Sikh Temple) that she is use to visit daily before going to her office. As ususal Rabnoor is again standing in front of Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Book which is considered as present Guru of Sikhs ), she bent down on her knees, she folded her hands and closed her eyes.  She was prayed in her heart to Guru sahib (God) to bless her and her whole family with good health, peace and prosperity.  And she thanked to Guru Sahib for everything. Today she not forget to ask for strength and happiness for her cousin Ishpreet for her future. And after visiting and praying at Gurudwara Sahib she went to her office. Rabnoor is very kind hearted person. She always thinks of wellbeing and happiness of her loved ones than her own.  She always helps one who is in need. This is all in her nature. She reached her office building and waited for lift. She checked the time on her watch. It was exact 8:40 am. Thanks to that e-rickshaw that she got immediately after reaching the main street, today she reached early. Because she was early today, she was standing all alone. Rabnoor entered the lift as soon as it arrived.  The door of the lift was about to close when someone stopped it from closing by placing his hand on the lift door. (An interesting character is about to enter in Rabnoor’s story, so keep reading guys)
