Lost in her thoughts

602 Words
Rabnoor was in the metro, looking outside of the big glass window of the metro coach. She was sitting on a seat.  Her one leg resting on other, keeping her elbow on her knee and her hand under her chin to support her face and her eyes fixed on the glass window, she was thinking something.  After talking with her cousin sister she felt little relieved but her train of thoughts keep on roaming and she wondered 'what if something like this happens with her? What will she gonna do then?'  She was deep in her thoughts when she felt she got squeezed in her seat. She felt little uncomfortable and her train of thoughts came to halt and she looked around to see where she actually was. She was still in metro.  She realised that she was so engrossed in her thoughts that she forgot to keep a track for her metro station. Then she observed the coach is overcrowded that is quite unusual than her daily travel.  She got nervous of the thought that 'Did she just missed her station?' Realisation struck her that may be she went too far from her actual destination. So she got up from her seat to check which station is about to come.  "Oh God, s**t s**t s**t" she cursed and mentally facepalmed herself because she went five stations ahead. She started to panicking on the thought that how she is going to get back to her home now.  Oh no she have to go all the way back to five stations and moreover it is already so dark outside. First thing she needs to do is to get down from this metro on next approaching station. And she did the same.  Now she thought to give her mom a call and inform her that she missed her station and reached five station ahead. So she called her mother on her mobile and informed her about the incident.  She rushed towards the metro station on the opposite side as she has to go back to her metro station.  As next train arrived the station, she hurriedly boarded that train and took an empty seat that was on front of her. She calmed down a bit as she settled back in her seat and she waited for her metro station which is still five stations away. In between her mother called her to inform her that Deep (her Uncle's son) will come to pick her up at the metro station and he will directly take her to his house for today's dinner.  It took her around twenty minutes to reach her station. She quickly deboarded the train as soon as it reached her destination.  She went out of the station to look for her cousin brother. And there he was waiting for Noor, with hands crossed against his chest, his eyes searching for her sister, standing leaning against his bike and looking very handsome. She approached him and greeted him, “Hi Veerji, how are you?” and they hugged each other lovingly. ("Veer" is an endearment used for brother whereas "Ji" is used for elders to show regards. As bhai is used for brother in Indian Subcontinent, Veerji is used mostly among Punjabis and Sikh community) He smiled brightly and replied to Noor, “I am good little sister, How are you?” “I good Veerji, did I made you wait long for me?” she asked. “No, I reached only five minutes before you and don’t worry about me, just tell me how your office is going?” “Oh it’s going fine.” “Ok let’s go then. Everyone must be waiting for us.” Deep said and Noor nodded on his statement. They both hopped on his bike and started towards his house.
