It's been a month since they caught Narine trying to cross the border. After they tossed her into the cell, Abby and the others had visited twice, only to be cussed at and threatened. Especially Willow got the brunt of her scorn.
She tried to talk to the guards every time they brought her food or water. Her cell being restricted meant they couldn't hear her, though. It was only those Morgan included in the spell that could communicate with her.
Maybe it was cruel of her, but after seeing the way Narine treated her little sister, Abby asked if Morgan could alter her enchantment on the cell a bit.
