"I've had enough of your excuses, Brie. I need a break", Ethan firmly said.
This was the day that he had seen Brie dating some other guy, for the nth time. What would he expect anyway? Regardless of the news that Aubrey Marches is a certified user and a playgirl, he still tries to commit with her.
Aubrey Marches is one of the expensive girls of Century Hill University. Actually, there's nothing special about her. All thanks to her mother, who's a big investor in their school, she could get to pass her grades. Without all those expensive dresses, heels and bags, she's a rag.
Brie just turned her back to Ethan and went straight to her car. As if she's affected by what happened, she's indeed celebrating right now.
"Get up and get dressed. We'll be partying tonight", Brie cheerfully said on her phone.
"I guess you already disposed that trash", Emma said on the other line. Emma is a loyal pet of Brie. Though she's not in favor of those nasty things, all she can do is to follow. In exchange for loyalty, she receives luxury stuff and money.
"Yeah, that's basic. Luke is hotter than him, anyway."
"Aren't you tired of this? What if you settle for some-", Brie cut her off.
"Enough of this, Emma. I don't wanna hear anything else. So, just get prepared and I'll drop off by your house at exactly 10:00 pm. Bye", Brie said breathlessly and hung up the call.
The city was energized with loud music, colorful lights and a bunch of people enjoying the night.
"hey, Brie"
"sup"
"Hi babe. You missed me?"
Most of the people inside the bar greeted Brie. She's famous and has a lot of colleagues, yet has only one companion, which is Emma. However, she can't consider her as one 'cause Emma is only a pet for her that she can buy.
"I already got us a drink", Emma placed two shots of tequila on the table.
"Whoa, you're too fast. The night is long, let's have more fun! Cheers", Brie raised a cheer, then straightly drank the liquor.
After a single drink, they joined the beat in the crowd. Drink and dance all night, people look wild and free. On the other hand, Brie feels something unusual. She had never felt that way before. She can't think of any reason why she's acting weird, maybe because of alcohol. But that was impossible. The sound of loud music is slowly minimized in her ears; all she can hear is the beat of her heart. The door opens and a familiar man comes in, but she barely recognizes him.
"Argh", Brie gowned while holding her head. She couldn't get up because of a severe headache, but she had no choice since Chimpy, her dog, kept on l*****g her foot. Another thing that pops out of her mind is how she managed to get home pretty fine. She jumped off her bed and noticed a note on top of the table. “Twinkle, twinkle, little star. I’m shining brighter from afar.” That is what was written in the note. Of course, she's Aubrey Marches and so, she just crumpled the paper then threw it.
“Yaya!”, she exclaimed while stepping downstairs and playing with Chimpy’s fur. She went to see the kitchen but didn’t see their maid. That made her blood boil a little.
“What's up with you, Aubrey?”, her father seriously asked. From the level of its sound, she was sure that the voice came from behind.
“Uhh! Good morning.”, she uttered unlively. Everyone knows that Brie is a bold person and there’s nothing and no one she’s afraid of. Not even to her own father. Ron Robert Marches, Jr. is a 50- year old businessman and father of Aubrey Marches. He is strict and perfectionist. Yet, Brie is fond of disrespecting him.
“Where’s your mother?”
“Her secretary said that she has business to finish in New York.”
“And you believe in that? If it was not for that guy, she wouldn’t have been there anyway.”
“As if you’re still together.”
“Are you saying something?”
“Well, that's the truth. Isn't it?"
“Look, I'm here to be a father to you. I heard things that were not appropriate and I’m not happy about that. You know what I’m saying, don’t you?”
“I don’t have any idea. And, I don't care. The last time I checked, you're no longer my father.”
“Do you really want to be like your mom? Aren’t you content with just one guy?”
”We're different and please stop pretending you care. You're also committing a******y, aren't you?"
“You know I can’t tolerate your attitude, the same as with your mom.”
“Sorry, but not sorry. I won't listen to you, so don't waste time.”
Mr. Marches was dumbfounded. He couldn’t get the right word to answer his daughter's hatred. The house was filled with tension when they heard a ring. It happened that it was Mr. Marches’ phone. He took the phone out of his pocket and hurriedly walked out of the house.
“Hayy”, Brie sighed. Finally, she could manage to catch her breath. It's like she's reaching boiling point at this moment.
Brie had lost her appetite so she just went back to her room and took a shower to freshen up. Her body feels quite sored and so she just wants to take a sleep all day. Not until an unnecessary noise wakes her up coming from the balcony. When she approached it, she saw a lot of small stones on the floor. Aside from that, a pink rose with a note was placed in front of the sliding door.
