Chapter ThreeA few hours after Amethyst and Lilith had left, Aurora was teaching Nira how to read and write. If Nira was to fool everyone that she was Amethyst, she needed to be able to do her school assignments. Aurora had left the room to bring more paper for Nira to practice writing the alphabet, and while she was gone, Nira noticed the closet doors were open. Many dresses hung on the racks, so Nira surveyed what clothing Amethyst had, trying on different garments. She was so excited to be in the castle and had always dreamed of being a princess. Nira found a light blue dress with gems on the trim. It had a large white bow on the back and small ones on the sleeves. She loved it and thought of asking Amethyst if she would be willing to give it to her.
“This is a lovely color,” she told
