Chapter FourA few days had passed, and the seas were calm while the sun shone brightly. Inside the cabin, Amethyst woke, not knowing what had happened or how grave her injuries were. She sat up slowly and felt that her head still ached as she touched the bandages. Her eyes moved around the small room. There were ropes and other things that swung from the ceiling. It took her a while to figure out that she was on a ship. How did she arrive on the boat, and were they heading east? Amethyst stood, but almost lost her balance and needed to grab the bedframe. The whole room felt as if it was spinning, so Amethyst stood there for a while until she was able to walk. She crept out of the cabin and stepped outside.
